Not a good experience staying here from 12-14th May 2025
1. Booked and paid fully in XieChen app almost 2 weeks prior. Texted the owner multiple times through the app to enquiry regarding parcel collection in behalf but to no avail till the day we checked in. Hence, no ordering of parcel at all.
2. We were lost despite the location is easy to spot that I called to seek assistance. Sadly, no one came to our rescue, we were on our own. Fortunately, we managed to spot after a while.
3. Checked in around 1pm and counter staff was clueless & unaware of my booking. I was even asked if owner had contacted through WeChat. Fact is none!
4. Long story short, arranged me an upgraded room which I wasn’t informed on the spot at the check-in counter until we entered the room and asked the staff. Glad that no hidden fee.
5. No one to help carrying up our 25kg luggage to room. The counter lady staff was even smaller in size than me. Unhelpful.
6. As the counter staff opened the room door, there was a lady (not sure who was that though) inside the room, live streaming. Staff asked her to move to other place, telling that we were going to stay in the said room. As the lady left, we were ushered straight into the room, no cleaning/sterilisation done after usage by the lady. Glad that the room was neat and we just give it a pass as we were just too exhausted to wait any longer. Unhygienic.
7. Next, we came back at night around 11.10pm. Entire lobby and garden were dark that we had to switch on our mobile light just to shine our way back to room. Almost fell on my way back to the room(look at the pic). We met our neighbour room 207, not able to enter the room due to access card issue. We, unfortunately, faced the same issue in room 208. So 4 of us were left waiting outside the room in dark while the staff tried solving the issue. Staff in Pajamas only successfully unlocked the doors after about 10 mins. Also, I was thrown with question (Will you go out again?) when I asked for the master card that can allow entry to my room.
8. There was washing machine but not drying machine. There were only 2 places to hang clothes- 1 inside the toilet (which was too tall for a 156cm person + easily wetted), another on top next to the bed (which we did not change clothes there). No place to hang the wet towels. Basin was too small to even put my make-up stuffs.
9. No room cleaning would be done unless requested. No courtesy to even ask if we needed a room cleaning. We rushed out early at 5.50am and only came back around 6.50pm, requesting for cleaning but to no avail as cleaning staff off duty at 6pm. Owner came to pass towels etc, collect garbage and that’s it.
10. No staff to assist check out at 7.15am. Dropped the room card at counter and we unlocked the main door to leave ourselves felt like it was unwelcoming.
Overall, not worth the price we paid-very unwelcoming experience. Not a professional homestay management. Big room for improvement. Sincerely not recommended.
