A small and intimate hotel with helpful, friendly staff and lovely rooms, each with their own personality. The beautiful old building has been very sympathetically restored, retaining many of its original features. Breakfast was amazing - and capped off a lovely stay. Discreet and private - especially in the separate stable block - this a great choice.

Lovely property full of character complete with beams in the stable room ceiling and slightly wonky walls! Everything you need in the room with some thoughtful additions including proper milk in the fridge and some lovely cookies. Excellent breakfast cooked and served to order. Very friendly staff. Free parking at the rear.

A lovely building, thoughtfully renovated. We had a large bedroom, comfy bed and breakfast was excellent. Only small complaint would be the speed of service at breakfast. This wasn't an issue for us but could be if you're on a schedule. That said the food was freshly cooked and worth the wait.

We were in the smallest room ( Peake rm) as only an overnight stay.Was perfect in every way.Spotlessly clean with a coffee machine, cookies, water and milk in the fridge plus a little jar of sherbet lemons( what a treat!) Fluffy towels , pristine bathroom. Bed was super comfy. I cant fault anything.

A great find, met our needs perfectly. We wanted somewhere to stay for 3 friends coming in all different directions before going for a day spa at host cross hall. Location was perfect. Very easy to find, good parking. We had a triple room, did look different to the photo we booked online, but it was great, very comfortable. Breakfast was brilliant, nice choice. Good value for money. I would really recommend it, all three of us would.

This hotel is exactly what you want to find when you think of a boutique hotel. The house itself is a grand town house and every inch is classic. I love what they’ve done with the furniture and dressings, jugs of flowers and rich colours. The high tea was plentiful and delicious, clearly home made the savoury’s and cakes were fresh and delicious. We sat in the sun outside in the pretty courtyard and enjoyed our coffees. Friendly, competent hosts, this was the nicest afternoon. Would love to stay for a weekend.

From the moment we found this hidden gem for our wedding reception, Danielle and the team have been perfect in every way. The house and rooms were perfect for our day and everybody who stopped overnight could not believe how beautiful the accommodation was. Me & my wife found this wonderful B&B in the heart of Lichfield to stay at following an evening out. It is ideally situated close the shops, bars, restaurants & the wonderful amenities of central Lichfield. The room we stayed in (Peak) was very comfortable with everything you'd expect from a modern hotel room along with many original features (with it being situated in an old stable block). The breakfast we enjoyed the following morning was equally as fantastic with some of the best scrambled eggs I've tasted!! I highly recommend St John's House & would absolutely stay there again!

We got married at St John’s in July 2024, we wanted an intimate wedding and not to have the usual wedding breakfast, St John’s were excellent from our first visit and went out of their way to give us the day we had in mind. The food we had was amazing, all our guests commented on how fabulous it was. All the staff were so lovely, going above and beyond to ensure all our guests had a good day. We stayed overnight and the bridal suite was perfect and the breakfast the following morning was delicious. St John’s is a beautiful venue and we have only wonderful memories of a day that was exactly what we wanted.
