Das ist Ihr typisches Hilton Hotel, das Sie in Amerika finden würden, ehrlich gesagt, wenn Sie gerade hierher kamen, Sie würden denken, Sie sind zu Hause. Auch sie haben Einrichtungen wie ein Restaurant, Pool und Fitnessraum in diesem Hotel. Restaurant ist ok, nichts wie das Essen, das Sie wahrscheinlich während der Reise rund um Costa Rica genossen haben. Schließlich war das Zimmer sauber und standardisiert, keine Fuss! Es ist auch sehr nah an allen Mietwagen-Rückkehrplätze. Frühstück nicht mit Reservierung inbegriffen, es ist etwas, das Sie aus der Tasche zahlen. Insgesamt, sehr gute Option für jemanden, der in oder aus dem Flughafen Liberia Intl reist.

Hotel allgemein Relativ große, aber sehr schöne Hotelanlage (nur niedrige Gebäude, kein Hotelbunker), super gelegen mit großem Freizeitangebot (siehe unten). Lage und Umgebung Die Hacienda liegt ziemlich abseits in der Natur, aber nicht weit vom Eingang des Nationalparks Rincon de la Vieja entfernt und ist gut über eine kleine Straße (allerdings mit vielen Schlaglöchern) erreichbar. An der Mautstelle kurz vor der Hacienda muss man als Hotelgast nichts bezahlen. Zimmer Die Zimmer sind alle ebenerdig angelegt, recht geräumig und schön ausgestattet, sehr sauber und es gibt warmes Wasser und ausreichend Wasserdruck in der Dusche. Je nach Lage ist ein kleiner Fußweg zu Rezeption/Restaurant nötig, Parkplätze gibt es immer in der Nähe der Zimmer. Service Der Service ist nett und funktioniert einwandfrei. Gastronomie Das Restaurant bietet zum Frühstück ein sehr umfangreiches Büffet mit sehr guten Speisen, mittags und abends gibt es eine gute Auswahl an a la carte-Essen; einmal gab es bei uns auch ein Abendbüffet (sehr lecker!), das man aber nicht unbedingt nehmen musste, man konnte trotzdem a la carte essen. Freizeitangebote Zu dem riesigen Areal der Hacienda gehören einige Wanderwege, Aussichtspunkte, Wasserfälle und natürliche Badepools, der Zugang für alles ist für Gäste kostenlos. Unser Favorit waren aber die Thermalquellen Rio ***** Hot Springs ein paar Kilometer entfernt, die man ebenfalls kostenlos nutzen konnte: Dort bekommt man Handtücher, es gibt Umkleiden und Schließfächer und dort sind einige Naturpools mit Temperaturen von 37-42 Grad angelegt, superschön in der Natur gelegen. Zum Abkühlen kann man auch in den vorbeifließenden kleinen Fluss gehen.

This was my second stay at El Mangroove, and I found it a bit disappointing on both occasions. For the price of this hotel, I would expect the beach that it fronts to be nicer, but the beach is very ”meh” (not the kind of beach with soft sand that one would want to relax on, and there are sand fleas). When I was here in 2018 there were many dead fish along the beach, also. The pools are nice, though enforcement of keeping kids and teens out of the ”adults only” pool was very lax, which made the experience less serene. The food is OK but nothing thrilling, and the dining areas are mostly open air with quite a lot of biting insects. The renovated rooms are nice and spacious, but laid out in an odd way, with hammocks indoors in some rooms in an odd location, no line or place to hang wet swimsuits to dry, and other odd design choices. The gym is tiny and in an outbuilding that is very poorly air conditioned so it is quite hot.

Solo trip over a long weekend, and Golden Palms was a great choice. Pros: - Quiet. This could be because I went during low season, but I twice had the pool to myself in the morning and at night. There was no wait for food, and I had my pick of beach lounges. - Everyone was SUPER friendly, but this is consistent in Costa Rica. - Location is less than 30 minutes from the airport. Also, was closer to Nicaragua for my one day trip there. - Rooms are exactly as pictured, and clean. Beds were made daily, with towels/robes refreshed daily. - Food portions were satisfying. - Property is beautiful upon arrival. I went on a number of tours, and multiple passengers from other hotels commented on how beautiful the property was. - Price was more than fair for where i stayed and the service I received. If back in Papagayo, I'd stay here again, hands down. - Security was checked every time I arrived or left the property. Cons: - Bugs/spiders in the bathroom. I actually didn't complain about this because it didn't bother me, but I can see how it would with other people. - Pool needs cleaning multiple times a day, but wasn't. I'm weird - WEIRD about swimming in a pool with a lot of debris. I did it, but hated doing it. - Restaurant food was ok. It definitely isn't varied. Over my four nights there I tried almost everything, I didn't hate anything. The pancakes I tried the morning I left were delicious, I'd recommend those. - Because the restaurant food isn't exceptional, the location is sort of a negative as well because you're not near anything. You'll have to drive or take a very expensive taxi to eat at other locations. All in all, I enjoyed my time there, and would not only stay again, but recommend it to others looking for an reasonably priced Papagayo/Guanacaste hotel stay
