Hotel Javy

I accept that we all review based upon our own expectations and those may be different than others. My family was looking for a hotel relatively close to the airport after our two week Costa Rican vacation. This place got great reviews. It was hard to find especially at night; streets are dark, no street signs. It’s behind a large concrete wall topped with barbed wire. There’s a large metal gate that they have to open to let you in. When we checked in, they handed us towels and put bars of soap on the top of them. I honestly thought I was being booked into county. The rooms were very basic and clean. Not decorated, bare walls. Hardest pillows I’ve ever encountered. Is not convenient to the airport due to the traffic and narrow roads. There’s a sign next to the toilet asking you not to flush paper. It’s in a residential area that’s very dark and I didn’t see any commercial establishments anywhere near there. The reviews/pictures did not paint an accurate picture in my opinion. For me this is a two bubble hotel. At best.

Really appreciated how communicative the staff were before we arrived. They were also very friendly and helpful! The parking is gated but pretty tight, so if you have a big car, be aware that it's a very tiny lot. The room was clean, the only thing is that it smelled a bit musty as though it needed to be aired, but it wasn't dirty. Nice location!

Lovely 2 night stay to begin our Costa Rica trip. Clean, quiet, spacious and very comfortable room. Very friendly and helpful staff who arranged our taxi pickup from airport and La Leona waterfall tour. 20 minutes walk to downtown. Amazing breakfast.

Clean, comfortable and friendly. Thanks especially to Keisy and Harlem. They both speak English and are very helpful. Great breakfasts. I always felt safe here. I'd recommend this local hotel to anyone. It is 5 mins walk to the hospital where my brother was a patient. Thanks Hotel Javy for looking after me.

Such a homey feeling and very welcoming. All of the staff are so sweet. The room was very clean and the Air conditioning worked so well. I ended up forgetting my laptop and within 15 min of leaving the hotel they told me and kept it safe until I returned. Overall a very nice experience.

Nice place for an overnight stay upon arriving. It was clean, comfortable and the staff was welcoming. There were a few restaurants within walking distance. On the night we stayed, there was very little hot water, which was unfortunate on an otherwise nice stay.
