The Harp at Letterston

We have stayed in many places in the area and now we have found the best of all ,room was very nice and breakfast was also very good also convienant for the ferry and plenty of parking spaces and right beside the main road Staff was very friendly and helpful

Went for a family meal (5 in total). For me, the food was quantity over quality. 2 x curries, arancini balls, dirty fries, gammon and pizza. Portions were very large, but the curries had a strange, chemically type taste and the arancini balls were dry and greasy. Pizza was ok and dirty fries were far and above the best thing. Service was ok - on arrival the person behind the bar who gave us the menus had no idea what items contained gluten and there was no markings on the menu to say what was or wasn’t gluten free. Luckily, another member of staff knew. It took a while to take our orders (we were only one of three small groups eating). The bar was often unstaffed to get extra drinks and we had to wait at the bar to ask for our bill. Not sure what the staff were doing as the place wasn’t busy. The venue itself is great, I’ve been a few times over the years, but this was the worst experience. It’s not bad, but personally I’d rather smaller portions that tasted better.

Really lovely establishment on the A40 by Fishguard. The restaurant was well presented and the staff were really friendly. The meals were generous and tasty. There was also a specials board besides the menu. The premises retained a lot of its historical features and had a large tropical fish tank with fish. The facilities were clean. Would definitely recommend and would return.

Room was exceptional. Accessible. Very clean. Lovely bedding . Booking is problematic it took them 2 months to confirm. They don't want to send emails. I am not prepared to travel from Manchester without confirmation. Booking process irritating. Room superb .Pub food ok.

I've visited The Harp on and off for over 25 years and the restaurant is nowhere near what it once was. The meal I had on this visit was perhaps one the most disappointing ever. The prawn cocktail starter had a very poor salad, the chicken I had for my main course was rather overcooked, and the strawberry pavlova I had for desert was not anywhere near as tasty as I have had previously there. There seems to be a very high turnover of staff at The Harp (I have visited Pembrokeshire 4 times on holiday since October 2021 and there has been a different set of staff there every time), and despite the menu never changing, standards seem to vary wildly. This has been the case for years unfortunately. One plus point though was that the staff were very pleasant.

Mixed feelings about this visit. The ensuite was warm but the main bedroom was cold and there was no sign of the heating being on. Besides that we slept really well. The breakfast was excellent. The only thing I would say it was a rugby weekend and we were the only people staying there and to be honest felt we were more of a hindrance than welcome. We have stayed here numerous times as we have relatives nearby but this time has left us underwhelmed. Maybe it's time to try somewhere else? On future six nation weekends maybe refuse bookings?
