Le Pit

We booked in January for our September in France, specifically requesting the optional evening meal because we knew we would be travelling in a small open car for most of that day. The evening before arrival we received a message that a meal could not be provided, but there were restaurants nearby. We arrived at the expected time. No one was there. Some time later, a man arrived and showed us in to an outbuilding containing a number of beds - the room had perhaps been closed for some time and needed ventilating. The bathroom was up some steps beyond the room, containing a shower, basin and macerator, electric toilet. It took a long while for any hot water to arrive. Having been given directions, we drove to the local restarants - all were closed. Breakfast next morning was acceptable, prepared by the owner's daughter, but we were glad to be under way.
