Three of us went (should have been four) and stayed for 5 days and we had the double and triple rooms between us. Both had balconies overlooking the Aravis range and the village and church in front of us. the hotel has a superb location, being only 50m from the ski bus stop (bus E) which takes you to the Rosay/Joyere gondola in about 2 minutes. there are ski hire shops very close by and the tourist information office is about 20m from the ski bus stop and you can get your lift passes from here or at the gondola station. this gives an idea of the handiness of the locationmof the hotel. The rooms are spacious enough and whilst the bathrooms are a little compact they serve the purpose adequately and there was always plenty of hot water for the shower. The breakfasts are very good with a typical continental fayre. Selection of meats and baguettes aplenty, croissants, pain au choocolat, yogurt, cereals, cold soft boiled eggs, fruit juices and superb cofee. There is also a ski room with boot drying facilities. The hotel also has it's own restaurant which we ate at the first night and the menu selection was very good as was the food which was served without having to wait too long. there are 5 or 6 restaurants all within 100yds of the hotel none of which will disappoint. Two great bars close by, the 2 Guides and The Flying Pig I would totally recoomend. There are two minor points which may be worth mentioning. There are a number of steps leading up to the hotel entrance which may be awkward for some people if mobility is an issue and there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms, but neither of these detracted from what was an excellent stay. As a resort, Le Grand Bornand is great for skiing and has plenty going on in the summer as well. the free bus to La Clusaz which runs every half hour and takes 12 minutes really opens up the area and there is more than enough skiing for a week's holiday. Would I come back here again? In a hearbeat!
