La Ferme de Maurel

Could this be the most beautiful Gite in France? We arrived at Maurel and were greeted by Erick and Laurence, the two lovely and hospitable owners. We immediately noticed the stunning views of rolling hills which lead to a direct view of the Pyrenees. The interior of the farm house is beautifully restored with huge rooms, luxurious bedding and furniture fitted out with robes, slippers, thick towels. The toilets were very spacious and the showers had great water pressure. Really just very much more luxurious than we were expecting. Gorgeous godin fireplace with board games and toys for children. Huge climbing frame with trampoline. Large, secure area next to the pool for children. Comes with lots of animals and a huge vegetable garden which Erick generously shares with guests (tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, courgettes, eggs all from the farm). Lots to do in the surrounding area, including some of the worlds most unique cave systems, hiking and bike trails and castles. If you are thinking of a Gite in the foothills of the Pyrenees, steeped in culture and history you cannot go wrong here.
