The White Hart Hotel

Visited the Hotel in October. Hotel room was warm, cosy and clean Comfortable firm mattress. Plenty of Tea and Coffee. Hair dryer facilities in the room. Food in the White Hart was delicious, definitely recommend the Macaroni cheese and Bacon. All the staff behind the bar were lovely and helpful service was great. Thank you to all the Team.

They left extra towels (that should be kept clean) on the floor in front of the door. The walls had some holes. The overall structure is old and not renovated. The cold water of the sink stopped running in the evening: I had to brush my teeth under the shower. The shower was either too hot or too cold. To get into the rooms, you need to climb a staircase that is so narrow that you can hardly carry your luggage.

We attended the pub to have dinner as we were at the Holsworthy 44 weekend. It was welcoming, allowed dogs in the bar area and customer service was excellent. We were a big group of 12, but the food came out timely and was delicious! Everyone was very happy with their food! The owner then kindly took a photo of our group outside the pub! We can’t wait to come again when the show is next on!

To call this a hotel is a joke! Had we not pre-paid for the room, we would have left immediately! No curtains, minimalistic furnishings, information file that was incorrect and misleading and the wardrobe consisted of six wire coat hangers on hooks on the wall! Hotel room details of menu costs/prices were less than those charged in the bar! This is disingenuous at best if not verging on the fraudulent. Room guide stated:- Breakfast is served in the main bar between xxxx and xxxx. Nothing of the sort!!! We were to find two cardboard boxes outside our room with allegedly what purported to be breakfast!!! We had ONE CHAIR AND NO TABLE ON WHICH TO EAT T HIS SUPPOSED BREAKFAST!!! We would strongly recommend other tourists NOT TO USE this “facility”. In staying in several small hotels during our tour this summer, this was pleasingly the exception.

We were looking for somewhere for lunch while staying in the area and came across the White Hart. We chose the steak on the hot grill, with sides of raw mushrooms, chips and onion rings. You cook your meat and mushrooms on the hot plate to your own liking and it was delicious (so good in fact that we went back later in the week - wish we were staying longer as we’d have liked to have tried the prawns too). Added bonus was the price, very reasonable and I would definitely recommend.

We stayed 3 nights in this Hotel, room only. The room was spacious, comfy cool beds, good shower and very clean. The cleaning lady was especially helpful with providing local information and supplies of tea, coffee and milk for the room. The price was very reasonable, and we would recommend this Hotel for a short stay.
