Ich habe dieses Hotel für eine Übernachtung im Juni über ********** gebucht. Mein Mann und ich flogen abends nach Alghero und reisten am nächsten Morgen zu anderen Zielen auf Sardinien. Unser Flug hatte Verspätung und ich schickte dem Hotel vom Flughafen aus eine E-Mail, in der ich ihnen mitteilte, dass wir ziemlich spät, gegen 10:30 Uhr, ankommen würden. Als wir ankamen, war niemand da. Wir klingelten und niemand antwortete. Wir riefen über 40 Minuten lang die an der Tür angebrachte Nummer an, um Hilfe zu erhalten, und niemand ging ans Telefon. Uns blieb nichts anderes übrig, als zu gehen und uns eine andere Unterkunft zu suchen – zum Glück haben wir das getan. Ich rief ********** an, die mit dem Hotel sprachen – sie wollten uns unser im Voraus bezahltes Geld für unseren Aufenthalt nicht zurückerstatten. Das war meiner Meinung nach ein schrecklicher Service sowohl seitens des Hotels als auch seitens **********. Ich habe die Aufzeichnungen der Telefongespräche auf meinem Telefon und Fotos, die zeigen, dass ich im Hotel war. Trotzdem hielten sie es für angebracht, mir ein Zimmer in Rechnung zu stellen, das ich nicht genutzt hatte, obwohl ich sie so früh wie möglich über die verspätete Ankunft informiert hatte. Ich reise viel beruflich und privat und habe ehrlich gesagt noch nie so eine schreckliche Erfahrung gemacht. Ich werde ********** nicht mehr nutzen und kann dieses Lokal auf keinen Fall empfehlen.

Nun, das war eine harte Bewertung zu schreiben, weil das Personal sehr nett und geduldig mit uns war, als sie ihre besten Anstrengungen unternommen, um uns komfortable zu machen. Erstens wurden wir ein Zimmer mit sehr kleinem Bodenplatz angeboten, weil es ein Einzelbett mit dem Doppelbett im ”Superior Doppel” Zimmer, das wir auf ******* reserviert haben, und dann nachdem wir Beschwerden hatten, wurden wir in ein anderes Zimmer verlegt, das eine Art von Alarm-Malfunktion so am Ende wurden wir ein angemessen Doppelzimmer mit Balkon und Aussicht auf das Wasser angeboten. Es riecht von Desinfektionsmittel, aber bis dahin gingen wir nicht weiter Beschwerden. Wir haben die Schiebetür einfach offen gehalten, während unseres Aufenthalts für frische Luft. So, Ich würde das Büropersonal 4 oder 5 Sterne bewerten, weil sie sich bemühen, uns bei der Eincheckung zu beglückwünschen und für ihre weiteren Grüße und gute Freude, als wir das Hotel kamen und verließen, aber ich würde das Hotel 3-star, Sicherlich nach US-Standards, am besten vergleichbar mit einem Holiday Inn oder Ramada Inn, nicht ganz ein Hampton Inn oder Embassy Suite.

Our stay at this exclusive, beautifully appointed historic hotel was wonderful. The location is amazing - just a short 10 minute walk along the waterfront to the old town of Alghero with stunning views across the mediterranean. We had a sea view room with a large balcony and although not huge, the room was elegantly decorated with beautiful pieces of furniture. The pool area is calm and peaceful with stunning views overlooking the sea. There is also private access down some steps to the sea if you fancy a dip. The hotel is very private with access from the road via secure gates only. It is within it's own grounds surrounded by beautiful private gardens where there are lots of areas to sit peacefully. Staff were very accomodating and extremely friendly. Service was excellent with high staff to guest ratio. Nothing too much trouble. On departure day a taxi was ordered for us and as we were leaving slightly before the official start time of breakfast, staff kindly arranged for us to have breakfast a little earlier which was very much appreciated. Silver service breakfast was wonderful and lots of choice. Overall a truly memorable stay and we will certainly be returning.

It is a quiet and clean place to stay for a few days. The staff was very kind and helpful. Great value for money. You can serve a delicious continental breakfast. The hotel is strategically situated, being at a 10-minute walk away from the two main beaches of Alghero: Spiaggia di Lido and Maria Pia (a very beautiful, pristine and white-sanded beach). It is relatively close to some supermarkets.

Chose the rooms (it is not a guest house) based on location. Overall the place was clean and functional but there are some problems. Firstly it is impossible to drive to the property and drop off luggage. You need to find a paid parking place and walk with your luggage. This could mean walking up to 1 mile depending on parking location. Secondly we booked a room with private bathroom, but on arrival discovered that it was across a corridor and required unlocking doors. Thirdly the owner is so concerned about the a/c being left on that he has added a key. As the keys are all on one ring, you cannot be in the bathroom with the door locked without switching off the a/c and locking bedroom door. A completely unsatisfactory solution. Fourthly, the property seems to lack any fire prevention or detectors. This is really more a collection of rooms in an apar**ent rather than a guest house (as described). Bottom line is the location is great once you are in the property but the negatives were never shared in advance. Nor did the owner seem to care.

A nice hotel right in the centre of the old town, with the hotel appearing to occupy around 1/4 of the upper floors of the old building complex of the Church of San Francesco. The rooms are quite basic (no TV but not a problem) and small room, but the bed was comfortable and the room shutters allows for a very good nights sleep, and there was no noise from the pedestrian street outside. Breakfast was quite good for a small hotel (and for an Italian hotel which from my experience are normally quite simple). Special thanks to Frank for contacting me after Booking . yeah messed up a change to my reservation and cancelled all my rooms, but Frank helped me sort out the problem. An interesting hotel and well worth a stay if you want a hotel in the historic centre, rather than a beach resort hotel.

Große Lage und bietet kostenfreie Shuttle zur Stadt. Frühstück ist hervorragend. Allerdings kosten sie Ihnen 15€ für den Parkplatz pro Tag und 3€ für die Verwendung von Handtüchern am Pool. Diese Hotels sollten kostenlos sein, da es sich um ein Kategorie 4-Sterne-Hotel handelt.

Gut geführte Gästehausstruktur, renoviert, duftend und der Beschreibung entsprechend. Unser kleines, aber sehr schönes Zimmer, modern, hell, neu, mit einer großen Terrasse, die Privatsphäre und Komfort garantiert, Wäscheständer, Minibar, Klimaanlage und WLAN, alles funktioniert gut. Perfekte Lage: - ideal für einen Spaziergang nach einem Tag am Strand, nur wenige Schritte vom historischen Zentrum von Alghero und der Küste entfernt; - sehr praktisch aufgrund der Nähe der städtischen und außerstädtischen Bushaltestelle zum Flughafen und zu den Stränden (Endstation vor der Villa). Dadurch wird das Risiko vermieden, nicht in die Busse einsteigen zu können, die normalerweise überfüllt ankommen nächste Haltestellen!; - Coop-Supermarkt in unmittelbarer Nähe, außerdem Obst- und Gemüseläden, diverses Zubehör und in der Via XX Settembre die beste Konditorei in Alghero, Pasticceria Tarragona, wo man ein himmlisches Frühstück genießen kann! Die Eigentümer Claudia und Franco sind seriös, freundlich, immer bereit, Anrufe zu beantworten und jederzeit für Wegbeschreibungen sowie eine Matte/einen Sonnenschirm für das Meer zur Verfügung zu stehen. Empfohlen!

Camera molto confortevole , pulizia eccellete. Purtroppo questa struttura esige il check out entro le ore 10, 00 e non da nessuna possibilità di depositare le valigie , capirete che se uno ha il volo alle 15,40 dello stesso giorno non ha alternative se non trascorrere 5 ore accompagnandosi alla valigia o andare all'aeroporto e trascorrere le ore che trascorrono prima della partenza, mi è stato risposto successivamente in repplica alla mia precedente recensione che esiste a pagamento un LUGGAGE ROOM , che non mi è stato menzionato al momento del chek-in. Colpa mia che, al momento della prenotazione mi è sfuggito il particolare di questo regolamento del chek-out alle 10,00 del tutto raro a trovarsi, pensavo a quello canonico di tutti gli Hotels e di altri B&B delle ore 11/12,00. Ebbene siamo stati redarguiti in modo molto maleducato da un a persona che non si è nemmeno presentata , ma abbiamo intuito poteva essere il proprietario, che ,al mio tentato di giustificare il fatto di avere lasciato la valigia pronta in camera sino alle 12,00 per non aver inavvertitamente letto questo regolamento, si è voltato e senza salutare (ribadisco) se ne andato senza replicare . Tengo a precisare in replica che al nostro ritorno ore 12,00 la camra era stata fatta dal personale che si occupa del ripristino delle camere,senza creare alcun grave disagio come citato dal proprietario nella sua repplica, si precisa che in questa struttura il chek-in si fà alle 15,00, quindi non cerano alla porta alcun altro ospite in attesa (di cosa stà parlando)Altra cosa falsamente evidenziato dal proprietario che ci ha tacciato di aver fumato in camera , cosa falsa e menzioniera poichè questo è avvenuto sul balcone della camera all'aperto con tutti i riguardi del caso tenendo ben chiusa la porta della camera che dà sul balcone. Faccio ancora notare in replica ... che ci ha girato le spalle Davvero da ”CAFONE” ... ci voleva poco ad essere gentile esponendo le stesse cose. Io non mi permetterei mai , di scrivere falsità in una recensione non ho motivi , probabilmente il proprietario è anche permaloso e menzoniero per usare un eufemismo, capisco che per difendersi lei si arrampica sui vetri , ma dire falsità sul comportamento degli ospiti mi sembra veramente di bassa professionalità per non dire altro. Sia una certezza e non solo una promessa per il proprietario che non ci torneremo più in questa struttura.

The Carlis V in Alghero is definitely not a 5 star hotel. I will say that most of the staff were friendly, the rooms are spacious enough and the view is lovely ( but you pay a hefty price for it ). We always stay in 5 star hotels , but the standards here are certainly not worthy of a 5 star. There was no porter to carry a suitcase , the rooms were quite basic in design, the television remote worked only occasionally, there were plastic cups in the bathroom , a strong smell of sewerage in our corridor and the menu was very limited. All fairly small things really that you could overlook once you settle in , considering the small amount of time you actually spend there , while out sight seeing what is a beautiful town. ( Even though for a 6 night stay costing over 3000e , I would expect a higher standard. ) What really disappointed us was an incident which occurred on the final evening. We had a rented car which we parked each evening in the hotel's small 20 space carpark. On our return from an afternoons outing , we turned into the car park to be greeted with tape around all the spaces. The desk manager then came running out and starting shouting at us that we couldn't park there , as it was reserved for the porsche car club who were arriving with their cars shortly. He was extremely rude and told us and other guests that we had to find a parking space on the public road . No parking for us mere mortals who probably had paid a higher premium than a group rate that a club or group might have received. So all other guests who were parked there , were also told to leave. This , really irked us enough to complain, to no avail. In the Irish hospitality business, this would be totally unacceptable. I would comfortably say that this is maybe 4 star , but probably below this rating , but I can definitely say , we would not stay here again. In fact we visited two other 4 star hotels very near here and down on the new town opposite the beach , that looked to be of higher standard. Very disappointing service and one very rude staff member.
