A family-run hotel in a quiet location in the center of town, 5-10 minutes from everything, including the bus and train stations. I had a standard room in the back, overlooking the wall of a church. It was wonderfully quiet. The bed was very comfortable, the shower and taps had good pressure and lots of hot water. I had ample room, with a desk, a tv, and a coffee-making setup (which I never used). What I really enjoyed was the atmosphere - a hotel that isn't part of a chain, does not take bus tours or hen parties, has a large lounge with comfy chairs and a library, and where the manager, Iain, goes out of his way to be helpful. Breakfast was classic full English (well, Scottish), with a buffet of cereals, yogurts, fruit, Nutella, and so on, in addition to the cooked-to-order hot meal. There was a can of Walker's oatcakes on each table, and one morning I had cheese and oatcakes for a change. Iain can arrange for an early (not-hot) breakfast if needed. I will stay here whenever I am in Inverness.

Das Gästehaus ist etwa 15 Minuten zu Fuß vom Stadtzentrum entfernt. Wir kamen nur zu einem Treffen von einer Frau, die sich heraus sah, um uns zu sehen. Initial dachte ich, sie sei die Reinigerin, es zeigte sich, sie war der Miteigentümer. Es gab überhaupt keine Begrüßung oder Einführung. Es schien kein Empfangsbereich zu sein. Wir wurden frühzeitig einchecken gestattet. Als wir auf den Treppen gingen, die wir um das Frühstück gefragt wurden. So halbwegs auf die Treppen hatten wir eine Zeitslot für das Frühstück. Das Zimmer fühlte sich sauber. Einige gebrochene Lampenschattungen und fehlende Lichtblasen, aber ein schönes Zimmer, um unsere Kopfe zu legen und eine Dusche zu haben. Der Fan wurde gebrochen und wurde gesagt, es würde ersetzt werden. Das ist nie passiert. Es gibt einen Lidl über die Straße für Komfort. Das Frühstück war ok, aber die Sauce waren strainley süß, deshalb hatten die meisten Menschen entweder die Hälfte oder zwei Drittel einer Sauce auf ihren Platten. Frühstück ist nur zwischen 0800 und 0830. Wenn wir auschecken, wurde uns nicht gefragt, wie unser Aufenthalt stattdessen war Kate sagte, sie wollte mit mir reden und fragte, warum ich nicht zum Frühstück am Vortag kam und dass wir ihr Bacon und Sauce verschwunden haben. Vielleicht wären wir nicht verschwunden, wenn das Frühstück gekocht wurde, um zu bestellen und nicht wieder aufgewärmt ”ihr” Bacon, für den wir bezahlt hatten. Also kein warmes Highland willkommen oder ein freundliches Abschied, nur ein b0ll0ck! ng auf dem Weg raus.

Located five minutes outside of Drumnadrochit, but the owner gave us excellent directions and we found it without a problem. You do need to drive to find somewhere to eat (and there’s very limited choice in the evenings), but the owners recommended the Loch Ness Inn which we dropped in to before arrival and the food and beer were excellent Warm friendly welcome by the lady of the house, showed us around and explained everything. Room was excellent – very spacious and all controlled by Amazon Echo (including the heating). View from our window was across Loch Meiklie and there were even binoculars in the room for a better view. Coffee / tea making facilities with an array of snacks to help ourselves to if we wanted. Bathroom was great with large walk in shower. Bed was large and very comfortable. Breakfast was continental only, but it was stunning. Wide range of pastries, cereal, fruit etc with a selection of cold meats and different cheeses – one of our favourite breakfasts of our two weeks in Scotland. The hosts Stu and his wife were first class – excellent conversation over breakfast Great value for money. Would definitely stay here again if we’re ever in this part of the country.

The hotel itself is finished to a very high standard and the rooms are luxurious. We will definitely be returning. All the extra touches like champagne on arrival made it very special. We had to roam around town as we were delayed on the train and then to the B&B to meet with the owner to check in at a specific time. Had we known there was seating out back, we would’ve sat there for three hours instead of roaming around a hot city, tired from travel, with all our luggage! The courtyard is cute with lots of potted nasturtiums.Our room had a large ensuite bathroom and two chairs to have tea which was provided on the table along with a tea kettle. There is a closet for clothes, and two end tables with lamps. The bed slanted a little on one side, and I kept rolling to the edge a bit. But the room was clean, quiet at night and early morning and it’s all we needed just to sleep. The breakfast had several types of cereals, yogurt, fresh fruits, and juices. The owner, Andy, took our order for eggs, hot oatmeal, sausage, ham or bacon, which was quite nice. He automatically brought out toasted bread. It was certainly plentiful. But when it states 8:00 for breakfast--we didn’t feel very welcome for being early risers at 7:45.

Ein früherer Bewerter war wirklich auf dem King's Club, der ein neuerer Begleiter des älteren Kingsmill Hotels ist, wo das Hauptessenszimmer und die Bar sind. Ich bin nicht sicher, ob wir beide die gleiche Stelle bewerten können. Zunächst fand ich das Personal sehr hilfreich und nicht clueless, wie vorgeschlagen. Die Zimmer sind ziemlich schön und ich genossen wirklich die Außenterrasse mit dem Inverness Golfplatz nur wenige Fuß entfernt. Das Zimmer war geräumig mit einem sehr schönen Badezimmer mit separatem Bad und Dusche. Das Frühstücksbuffet war ziemlich schön, wenn nicht über dem Top und die Früchte nicht alt, wie vorgeschlagen und die Eier nicht atemberaubend. In der Tat wurden sie genau wie im Gleneagles Resort, das sicherlich fünf Sterne ist, präsentiert. Es war eine einfache 15-minütige Spazierfahrt in das Herz von Inverness. Insgesamt würde ich sicherlich den King's Club empfehlen.
