There is no air conditioning and the heat stayed on although we had the control turned to the lowest setting. We tried opening the back door with screen door closed but a squirrel came into our room because the screen had a big rip at the bottom. There was a window but we were afraid something would come through that screen also. Although it was 50 degrees outside our room was very stuffy. The carpet and furniture are old and dated looking. The staff is hit or miss. The bellman and maids were very courteous and our server at breakfast was nice but the check-in guy was not friendly or helpful. We tried to eat at the restaurant but I was told to take off my hat (I'm a woman). I understand rules but it didn't make sense to us that our only option was a prix fixe fine dining experience for $160 CAD. The more casual restaurant was closed. The whole area is outdoor oriented and casual so it would be better suited to have a casual choice restaurant at all times. We'd done a 10 mile hike that day and the last thing we wanted to do is dress up for dinner. A positive for the hotel was coffee was offered in the lobby for free every morning. The turndown service at night was nice. We got a bottle of water and a granola type bar. For the price we paid, the room was not worthy. The coffee machine in the room was a lot of trouble to operate and malfunctioning. There was no refrigerator on the room but we were able to get one from the front desk.It is extremely overpriced and profit does not seem to be put back into the accommodations. Rooms were not sound proof. It was noisy a times. In summary we would never stay here again.

The hotel is on first impressions is beautiful with a lovely reception area and a river runs through the grounds, again beautiful with the mountains always visible. The room was very nice, only drawback to the room was no air conditioning which is a not good as it was about 28 C. The showers were also “old school” and you stand in the bath. The bar area was lovely but small, unfriendly and limited. The bar staff were not friendly or helpful. This is something you don't see every day. We had plans for dinner so phoned to reserve a table in the restaurant and were advised it was a set 4 course menu at $160 per head. We found this difficult to believe so went to the restaurant itself where we found you didn’t have to have 4 courses and could have what you wanted. We booked and found that individual courses did not have prices so we ordered main courses not knowing the cost. We really didn’t want to eat too much as we weren’t that hungry but there wasn’t any alternative. The food was excellent but found to be, in my opinion, overpriced at $80 each. The restaurant service was outstanding and the drinks again, pricey. Could not really justify the cost of eating there again. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you have no transport as it isn’t walking distance to town and you may have to pay over the odds for food and drink. If touring the area by car this would be a lovely place to stay for 2 or 3 nights if you can get an appropriate room rate, so you can avoid the food and drink there.

Stayed here one night and was very happy with the room, service and particularly the staff. Very calm, relaxed vibe. Yes the train track runs close by but as most people are up.and out quite early for trips, walks etc doubt it would be a major problem

Morning coffee served to you in the lobby and afternoon tea - pampering throughout the day! The staff were delightfully warm and friendly; the atmosphere cozy, with a lovely log construction and located alongside the Pipeline River. It is located about 10 minutes from the Fairmont and Lake Louise, allowing for a quieter atmosphere away from the crowds viewing the vistas at Lake Louise. The small shopping area as close as crossing the river. Perfection !

A wonderful stay. The hotel building and grounds are gorgeous. Stay on the "preferred side" or in one of the cabins so you have a view of the river. Our room was spacious with very comfortable beds - a king in the main bedroom and a single daybed in the living area and a walk in closet. The bar, restaurant and pub were all very good. The staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere welcoming. The steam room, hot tub and pool were a great way to relax after a day's hiking.

This review covers the hotel, Sir Norman dining room at the lodge. And the Outpost pub as we tried both restaurants at the Lodge. We had an enjoyable two day stay at the Post & Spa as part of our Rocky Mountaineer Train trip in August. We found the hotel quite comfortable and was pleased to use the steam room, jacuzzi, and pool. Only issues were waiting three hours to check in and get our luggage and half of the health club equipment out of order. We visited the outpost pub while waiting for check in and enjoyed a great salad and soup and a sandwich. Price was reasonable. We ate dinner at the Sir Norman restaurant and enjoyed a caprese salad appetizer and salmon dinner. Food was great but pricey. Saturday we chose to eat dinner at the outpost pub again as they had prime rib on special that was fantastic and reasonably priced. All in all we had a great visit here.

Old, tired, hotel that leans on some “historical status” to attract customers. Rooms are a one star. Old. Old. Old. Dingy. Dated. Carpet everywhere that’s old and grungy. Yuk. Saggy old furniture. Breakfast buffet meh. Would never return and not recommend.

Loved this hotel. Very warm, comfortable and accommodating. We had a small suite with a living room with wood burning fireplace. Perfect since one day was cold and misty outside. All of staff were friendly and helpful. Took the hotel shuttle to Morraine Lake. Perfect place to stay when exploring Lake Lorraine and Icefields Parkway.

Really grim experience. Train noise constant. All gym equipment “out of order”. Lift “out of order”. Steam room “out of order”. Room completely out dated. Worn out carpets. No water in room. Half the hotel rooms look out over the large car park. Restaurant overlooking car park.
