Disney's Old Key West Resort

Absolutely outstanding!!!! Loved everything about this resort :) Boat & bus transportation:) Staff is the best and will go out if there way to help you. Family/solo/kids activities. Great location. Great food and the key lime is the best. Highly recommend this place.

Our suite was very dated. The couch was frayed and dirty. I would not stay at this resort again especially for the price! The positive aspects were the busses to the parks run frequently and the staff was friendly. The restaurant for breakfast (Olivia’s) was yummy.

Our first stay at Old Key West, a friend has stated it's their favorite DVC resort. It's Disney so it wasn't bad but I do like others better. Asked for ground floor or building with an elevator because some of our party aren't able to do stairs very well. Also asked for our 3 rooms to be as close as possible. 2 were side by side and the 3rd was all the way across the resort. The side by side rooms were on the 2nd floor with no elevator. I still enjoy Saratoga Springs better but Old Key West ain't bad.

We have stayed at many of the Disney resorts, but stay Old Key West went we want a really relaxing getaway. It's quiet and serene, with beautiful rooms and surroundings. The villas are so spacious. We always ask for a first floor villa and love the patio surrounded by greenery and water features. The 4 pools are all wonderful. We tend to go to the smaller, quieter pools, although the main pool is awesome with so many features. We have stayed here several times just to relax, not even visiting the parks (we are DVC members). OKW is further out than some of the other resorts, but a quick boat ride takes you to Disney Springs and the bus stops are very convenient throughout the resort.

This resort is ok. It’s pretty. It is not quiet though. I was next to a street and heard cars and motorcycles. Walls are paper thin. I had very loud neighbors. They were yelling and talking really loud. I called the front desk and they would not do anything until 11pm. So I had to listen to that for 4 hours. It was worse than a value resort. Breakfast at Olivia’s was not good. The eggs were covered in oil. Could not eat them because it makes me sick. They did take it off the bill but the manager was not very nice and said I should have told them that I didn’t want the oil. I didn’t know they came that way. Scratch that restaurant off my list. The hot water ******! I had lukewarm showers the first 4 nights until they made it a little better. The resort is really big so it takes a while to go around the resort on the bus before getting to the park. Food choices were minimal. Did not care for this resort.

Booked our stay by renting points from a DVC site. Great way to save money. The place is super nice. The vibe is quiet and laidback. The onsite restaurant, Olivia’s, was very good…as was their grab and go pickup location near it. The grounds are well kept and the staff was friendly. We stayed in a studio, which is their most affordable, and it worked well for us. The room is spacious. There were two queen beds, unlike most other resort studios, which feature a pullout bed for one of the beds. The kitchenette is more like a regular hotel kitchenette, with a mini fridge, microwave, drip coffee maker, a small sink, dish towel & soap, a couple of paper plates, bowls, plastic utensils, coffee cups & cups,paper towels and trash can. Full length mirror on exterior bathroom door. Fairly spacious bathroom with good water pressure. Shampoo/conditioner/body wash was mounted to the wall. It was clean and included a Hey Disney device, similar to Alexa. Small TV with poor sound quality. The property is a lot like clusters of townhouses. Our section had 2nd story (no elevator, but it was fine for us) and had a beautiful water/golf course view. I did see that there were a few 3 story units…nothing higher than that. Beds were comfortable, with 4 pillows per bed. Hair dryer, iron & board included. You can hear the buses go by, so bring a small fan or a sound machine to cover the slight noise. (There’s a ceiling fan, but it’s not loud enough for this.) My one complaint: there are like 4-5 bus stops within the resort, so just going through the resort takes 10-15 minutes itself. Role drop/early hours is even earlier to get up for bc of this. It’s the price you pay for a spread out, townhouse type resort. We were assigned a room near the Hospitality House area (even though we didn’t pay extra for that) and that bus was dead last for drop off at night. Sometimes we just hopped off at the first stop and walked the little ways to keep from having to go through the whole route. We resort hopped this visit on our “rest day” and trust me when I say OKW was much less crowded than Polynesian, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Grand Floridian, and Contemporary. I prefer less crowded, personally. The ferry to Disney Springs is great, BTW.
