Bahia Apartments & Diving

The location of the hotel itself is superb-overlooking the lagoon with beautiful turquoise waters to snorkel in. The restaurant is also beautifully located overlooking the lagoon, and between big iguanas sunning close by, and colorful birds coming on the fence to feed, you can't have a more pleasant location. Walk down the steps from the restaurant and you’re on the beach, for which the hotel provides free beach beds. However, this is not really a town. There are no grocery stores, for example. There is another restaurant close by, and two smaller eateries frequented by locals, each of which carries some minimal packaged groceries (no fruits or vegetables). The apartment was a mixed experience. Our top floor view of the lagoon was partially obscured by the roof of the restaurant below. But the ocean beyond was lovely. The bedroom was tight. Two single beds fit so tightly in the room, that there was hardly any room on the sides of the beds. No TV, no fan, just an AC that you'd have to pay for its use. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cutlery, but there was no microwave. There was a toaster, stove and frig. The balcony was lovely. The living area had a small 2 person table and chairs. No soap was provided, but the shower water was warm. The whole organization of the apartment did not make full use of the breezes coming from the lagoon as all windows faced walls. Finally, the restaurant served breakfast only after 9 am, the prices were high and the coffee cups, rather small.

Had an excellent vacation here! The location right next to Lagun beach is excellent. Comfy beds and comfortable bathroom. The staff was great, very friendly and helpful, especially Peter (the owner). Right next to Bahia restaurant and Bahia diving school. Planning on coming back!

Great experience! The food was delicious and the view of the ocean is amazing, especially the sunsets. Playa lagun has lots of exotic sea life to explore during your stay.

We stayed at the Lagoon Ocean Resort and took diving lessons with Peter. We are a family of four without prior diving experience. The dive shop is well-equipped and organized. They have everything you need for diving. All we need to bring is our swim suit. Peter is knowledgeable and personable. My pre-teen children were a bit unsure at first but with the training, they became confident and had a great time diving. The location is perfect. It's just a short walk from the dive shop to the water. The resort has a great view of the ocean. Sometimes you can see dolphins swimming by. Perfect weather everyday and iguanas resting on the porch. A true paradise. We had a fabulous time diving and staying at Bahia. We highly recommend Bahia and hope to be back!

Don’t hesitate to use this dive shop. First class service all the way! They have a dive shop, shower, bathrooms and lockers. We saw an octopus, spotted eel, seahorses, turtles…beautiful coral & sea anemones. Thank you so much for diving with us Rheanna. The entire staff is amazing!
