Tørvis Hotell

The hotel enjoys an idyllic position on the shores of the Lustrafjord, in the the small village of Marifjora. It is one of the oldest hotels in Norway with a guest house first established here in 1639. It purposely avoids modern amenities such as TV’s and has many areas in the hotel filled with seating, antique furniture, books, pictures and historic household ornaments. Rooms have lovely views across the fjord, with comfortable beds and modern bathrooms that provide an excellent stay. We also had breakfast and dinner here in a beautiful well-appointed dining room, both very good. Pricing also very competitive for Norway. We only stayed here for one night on a road trip around the region but could envisage returning for a peaceful relaxing day in a beautiful part of Norway.

Divine cuisine! So delicious and traditional! Excellent service! Gorgeous views and ambience! Would go back in a heartbeat! Really special place that clearly cares about their patrons and maintaining a traditional Norwegian experience!

Honestly I don't understand the negative comments about this beautiful hotel. We had a fantastic stay. The staff and owners were angels, they were extremely friendly. After much rain we decided to leave our camper holiday to have a warm shower and comfortable bed for our honeymoon in Norway. We spent one night here and decided to stay another night because we just could not get enough. Let's start with the beautiful surroundings, it is absolutely stunning. Even in rain and in misty weather it is magical. The hotel is beautiful, very romantic and has a lot of history. The decorations and design is just very unique. I can't praise the staff and owners enough. They gave us discount because we made a last minute booking and when they heard it was our honeymoon they made our stay magical, with private access to the suite balcony with stunning view over the fjord, a huuuuuge baileys and longdrink as complimentary drinks for our honeymoon, dessert with fireworks for my birthday, extra discount on the room.... The food was fantastic, very elegant and fantastic flavours. And the breakfast was huge with a lot of choice. The room is lovely, I noted the brand of the duvets and sheets because they are sooo soft and featherly. Yes there is no coffee and tea in the room, but there is free coffee in the lounge to enjoy at their huge fireplace. I hope my message will convince other travellers to visit this hidden gem. I want to personally thank Julia and Anders for our honeymoon special experience.

After some car trouble we arrived very late just hoping for a warm bed and a hot shower, but we got so much more. Even though the kitchen was already closed, they managed to serve an absolutely wonderful 2 course dinner, and Anders did everything to give us an amazing WOW experience. The rooms are good, and the salon (with fireplace!) and the dining area just exude the rich history of the hotel. Would definitely highly recommend!

Hotel spettacolare nell'estetica vista fiordo, gli arredi delle parti comuni potrebbero essere un'attrazione turistica. Purtroppo le camere un po' deludono e l'assenza di wifi è inaccettabile per un quattro stelle, funziona solo alla reception se c'è poca gente. Pulizia solo su richiesta. Ristorante con prodotti di qualità ma piatti da migliorare, scarsa anche la scelta. Staff molto gentile, simpatico e premuroso. Buonissima la colazione, da provare il pesce.

Enorm charmevol hotel, zeer vriendelijke ontvangst met uitgebreide geschiedenis van het op één na oudste hotel van Noorwegen. Het oude gedeelte werd heel goed bewaard. Het contrast met het deel uit de jaren ‘60 is vrij groot, maar werd goed bij elkaar gebracht. Vraag zeker een kamer met zicht op de fjord. ‘S avonds wordt het haardvuur in de lobby aangestoken voor extra gezelligheid. Zeer verzorgde en nette kamers. Bed en kussens waren iets te zacht naar ons aanvoelen maar dat is persoonlijk. Vrij veel keuze aan het ontbijt met veel lekkere en verse lokale producten. Enkel de prijs is wat aan de hoge kant, vandaar slechts 4 sterren ipv 5.
