Miramar Surfcamp

Raffa, Vinicius, and the crew are amazing! From the moment we arrived (group of 18 surfers) we were treated like family. The surf was fun, the accommodations well air conditioned, views are beautiful, and the food was great too. Super stoked and blessed to have done this trip!

It's low on frills but high on warmth and welcome. I thoroughly enjoyed my week at Miramar, my first ever surf camp and first time in Nicaragua. Absolute beginner surfer, beginner package, solo traveler. Pros: Staff and guests are all so laid back and friendly; by the end of the week you're hugging everyone goodbye - wait staff, cooks, surf instructors +. Everything you need is there once you arrive - meals, boards, daily access to waves close and farther away via boat or tuktuk. No need to wander far from camp, not that there's much around. Food was delicious, with a fixed menu and daily lunch and dinner specials. They were happy to accommodate my vegan/dairy free diet, and I never felt like I was missing out or still hungry (except for desert...) International guests, multiple languages spoken around camp, great vibe. Pools are great - social area, good spot to cool off and watch the waves. Great A/C in all three rooms I stayed in during my stay (my fault for the room changes because of me changing dates) Great artwork throughout the camp and in the rooms So many hammocks - and plenty of hammock time They picked me up at the airport at 1:30am and handled that easily Cons: Limited infrastructure - plumbing has some kind of serious limitations, no hot water in guest rooms. Pretty thin sheets on the beds. Flies at mealtime. Lots of them. A stomach bug that went around - seemed to hit everyone staying there for 18-24 hours. Mild for me. Overall it was a really great time. I met interesting people from around the US other parts of the world, all of various ages and life experiences. I learned a lot about surfing, spent a lot of time in the water.

Amazing week with the family! Most of us were beginners and the coaches did an amazing job teaching us how to surf!! Staff are amazing - so friendly and customer focused ! Food was really good with lots of variety!! You won’t go hungry . Beach is beautiful and they transport you to different locations as conditions change . Great safe place for kids with awesome pool .

Went for a one week trip with a group of friends. We rented the whole camp out and had an amazing time. I had never surfed before and by the end I was catching waves on my own. The surfing was incredible and the teachers were great. All meals were included and absolutely delicious and very filling. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. My room was comfortable and I had no complaints. I would have liked to be able to throw the toilet paper in the toilet instead of the trash can, but that’s to be expected. I spent my days surfing whenever I wanted, doing yoga, swimming in the pool or the ocean, eating great food, drinking Tonya’s (Nicaraguan beer), hammock napping, and dancing at night. I would highly recommend Miramar and will be coming back next year!

Miramar surf camp is dialed! The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is amazing. The rooms and hotel are clean. Good board rentals. The waves are really good and the daily boat ride takes you to the best conditions for the day. Many different breaks for different skill levels. Afternoons and evenings are chill with travelers from all over the world. Can’t wait to go back!

Great place to relax and surf. Staff is very welcoming and new rooms are amazing. Pretty consistent small waves great for beginners and middle level surfers. Great view from front rooms, pool and deck, beautiful sunsets despite jetty construction and electric plant in the background.
