Ostello Tramonti

I stayed here for 10 nights and it is without a doubt one of the best backpackers I have ever been to, and definitely the best in Europe that I have been to. If you are looking for an extremely well priced and good value accommodation within both driving/ bus and hiking distance to La Cinque Terre, I don't think you can do any better than this. The staff? Extremely friendly, helpful, and fun to be around. The food in the Ostello Tramonti in particular is unbelievably good. I never thought I'd go to a backpackers with such superb food. The rooms are perfectly functional, with comfortable beds. There weren't any amenities I felt like were missing and any time I had even the slightest issue or question the staff were able to remedy it immediately (thanks Cristiano, thanks Artur!) The village of Biassa is beautiful, and extremely quiet with just a couple of other restaurants and a couple of shops - one of which doubles up as the tourist office run by the famous Gloria - who I now refer to as 'La Regina di Biassa'. If you listen to Gloria's tips, you will have a fantastic trip and make the best use of your time. I was pleasantly surprised by the public transport. All the info I needed was kept advertised in the hostel (directions, up to date timetables) and Gloria herself was then able to confirm all of this. In the 11 days I was in Biassa / La Cinque Terre, not a single bus or train was cancelled. Of course - maybe I got lucky - but I can't fault the transport at all. Regardless, if something does happen with the transport, the 1.5hr hike to Riomaggiore is absolutely fine. I personally recommend the 3hr hike to Portovenere as an essential hike everyone should do. All-in-all, I cannot rate this place highly enough. If you are a traveller who understands the ins and outs of backpacking and you're happy with a good value, fun and functional place to stay in a quiet, quaint medieval village - then this is the place for you. I have seen some reviews from people who seem to think they're staying at the Ritz for 30euro a night. I would suggest they get a grip and give their heads a shake. And to the guy who complained about the village's church bells ringing - i'm not sure you deserve the joys the area had to offer. That is part of the charm. Long live Ostello Tramonti! My friend and I planned to stay 3 nights in Biassa. Unfortunately there was an announced train strike. Cristiano was very kind and flexible when we called. He suggested himself that we can come on a different day. When we arrived a few days later we felt very welcomed by Cristiano (the owner) and the other friendly staff. It was like coming home to friends. Cristiano has great knowledge about the area and its history, since he grew up close to the hostel. He told us that the hostel has had other owners a few years ago. So it seems like there are also old reviews on this platform that don‘t belong to this hostel. We enjoyed great home-cooked food at the hostel and loved the peaceful atmosphere in Biassa. The views from the little village and the hikes around it are breathtaking. Because we liked it that much, we stayed an extra day. Thank you Cristiano! (Also for answering all our questions, haha.)

Very foetunate to have found this place in the midst of the high season. This lovely village offers an authentic immersion on the coast of the cinque terre only 20mn away by bus. The hosts have been fantastic especially Cristiano who has been very generous and human since there was an overbooking, they freed an entire apartment for the night. Cristiano have us good advice's and was full of attention. Very lucky to have found them and Great experience!

In the middle of nowhere and very expensive for what you get. Unpolite and unhelpful staff. If you have to come here, don't follow their info about bus timetable. Find it by yourself, it'll be better. Guys your hostel is the WORST hostel in the world. Accept it and try to improve it.

Not recommended in winter unless you are fine sleeping in the cold or bring a sleeping bag. The advertise is misleading as the busses don't drive in winter and you won't get dinner. Also you will be completely alone, even the staff is leaving at night. Asking for a refund for nights that you paid in advance results in the boss threatening you. All reviews before 2022 don't count as is has new owners.

Really nice hostel near Cinque Terre. The staff, always helpful and polite, created plenty of space were people can meet and socialise, great atmosphere. Cristiano and Team go above and beyond to ensure all is sorted right away, extremely accommodating to any request. We’ll definitely recommend it and we’ll come back.

Had an amazing time and what a beautiful location! Just the exact perfect little break that we needed and as we visit Italy regularly it was nice to experience a whole new aspect of it. The owners made it so much more personable and we can't wait to go back!!

Cristiano e tutto lo staff sono simpaticissimi e disponibili, poi la sera d'estate il giardino con bar e ping pong è il top! Ambiente rilassato ed inclusivo. Ottima la cucina e il livello di inglese del personale. Tornerò sicuramente! Marco

Le lieu est sympa niché dans les collines et le staff dispo, agréable et aidant. Toutefois, si les chambres sont clean, certains lits sont mal vissés, les serviettes sont en option à 2€. Si vous êtes fan de rando, ce peut être le point idéal pour les CinqueTerre mais si vous voulez y accéder par le train, il vous faudra prendre le bus 18 pendant 20 minutes puis le train à la Spezia, ce n’est pas spécialement facile d’accès pour les non randonneurs. Le point de vue est très beau et le restaurant de l’hôtel fonctionnel et copieux. Toutefois, la qualification village médiéval de Biassa référencée sur le site de l’Hostel doit être tempérée dès lors qu’elle peut fausser les attentes des aficionados du genre. Mention spéciale à Florian, super colloc d’une nuit à qui l’on souhaite un bon voyage jusqu’à Istanbul 🤌
