Hotel & Spa des Gorges du Verdon

Rooms are tiny, renovated in a hurry with cheap furnishing/equipment (glasses are from Ikea). We had to store our luggage in the car as one large-ish suitcase would block the hallway passage for even one person as you will see in the attached pictures. At breakfast, frozen pastries are served (one day they were still frozen in the middle) and the quality of the cold cuts is poor. The breakfast was exactly the same every day (no variation) for our entire stay (3 nights). Service (at the reception) is indifferent and room cleaning inconsistent (one day they forgot adding a water bottle, another day, a towel and the cleaning face wipes and by the third day, we run out of soap- the bottles were far from full when we arrived). On the day we were not given water, I tried to refill my (really small) bottle at the tap at the reception (with flavoured water). A gentleman promptly took my bottle, emptied it and refilled it with tap water saying I am not allowed to fill it there. I did not argue and went in the village to buy water. The spa area is equally tiny and we shared it with a very noisy group of young people on the only day we used it. They were running, laughing and jumping in the pool, splashing water all over. The whole spa experience was completely ruined for us by the yelling group. The staff (completely indifferent) did not care about the comfort of the other guests and did not intervene. The hammam fits about 4 people comfortably and has a very restrictive schedule (3-7 p.m). The positive thing is the hotel’s location, cleanliness and the nice views. On the small balcony, our room had the noise and the smell from the kitchen as it was immediately next to it. The only person who was genuinely friendly was the gentleman serving the breakfast; unfortunately he could not compensate by himself for the rest. The price is huge for the poor quality offered, the service is borderline hostile and I still have blue spots on my leg as I hit myself against the furniture trying to make space for my partner to pass. Will not return and recommend everyone to avoid it.

An absolutely fantastic hotel in a corner of France that generally lacks luxury accommodations. Could easily be a Relais & Chateau. Wonderfully pleasant service, excellent food. Altogether great experience in an absolutely stunning setting.

We used *********** to find a place to stay our second night in France (after we left Nice) and while driving around le Gorges du Verdon, my 17 year old found this hotel. It was a little pricier than our other hotel choices but worth every penny. After we booked the room, I got a call from the hotel to confirm our reservation and ask if we wanted dinner reservations. We were greeted warmly when we checked in and quickly checked into our room. We were amazed by the view from our balcony and couldn't stop staring but we were late and the kitchen was closing so we went to the restaurant where we got to continue to enjoy the view. The food was excellent and we enjoyed sitting on the terrace, enjoying the lovely weather. The only thing I was disappointed by was the fact that they were fully booked the next night and couldn't accommodate it us for two nights. I didn't plan ahead so it was my own fault and how could we have known this place was so lovely. We didn't get to enjoy the pool or the spa but did do a quick hike to the local village, La Pelud sur Verdon before getting in the car to drive to Provence. As we checked out the gal asked us where we were going and when I said the town nearby, she said there had been a fire and recommended that we choose elsewhere to go so we did. Parking was easy too. Breakfast was your typical French breakfast fare but with a gorgeous view. I think this would be a great place for a destination wedding.

réservé 2 chambres dont une duplex absolument époustouflante, calme, sérénité et soleil, toilettes séparées et dressing séparé. C'est un établissement familial, la restauration est excellente, la patronne accueillante et le personnel aux petits soins. Randonnées exceptionnelles à 2 pas ou plus loin, magnifique piscine, dépaysement total et au calme, malgré l'afflux touristique en août pour les Gorges du Verdon. Vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés, expérience inoubliable.

Si je dois être tout à fait honnête, les chambres sont effectivement décorées avec goût (nous étions en Chambre Lilas ) la vue est a coupée le Souffle oui, mais les finitions sont pas terrible ( taches au plafond, plaintes recollées) mais c’est un détail, ce qui est dommage c’est la literie qui n’était pas au rendez-vous nous n’avons pas bien dormis et lorsque que nous l’avons indiqués à la dame de la réception au moment du checkout, celle-ci l’a très mal pris, et n’a rien dit sauf « tout le monde nous dis que notre literie est fantastique »… bon ni même un café offert pour s’excuser ou un rabais dommage pour le standing attendu… Hormis cet incident ( qui a son importance quand on séjourne dans cette catégorie d’établissement), le personnel était dans l’ensemble très sympathique et a même eu une attention pour mon anniversaire ＜3, le restaurant est quand à lui exceptionnel, le repas était divin, de même pour le petit déjeuner. Une des hôtesse avait l’air un peu fatiguée et embêtée à chaque demande dommage pour un début de saison … Nous avons également pris un soin massage duo et Spa les praticiennes sont excellentes je vous recommande, un coussin était sale de maquillage après le passage d’une cliente elles ont tout de suite fait le nécessaire, même si à mon sens ce coussin devrait être changé à chaque passage :) , le cadre est splendide et l’équipe fait que le moment reste un beau moment pour mon mari et moi, mais la dame de l’accueil du matin était la moins agréable et un peu sur la défensive dommage pour cet au revoir ;)

Tres mauvais rapport qualité prix , service décevant , petit dej très cher pour ce que c’est , la propreté est vraiment à revoir dans les chambres , prestation au spa décevante également , en revanche les repas au restaurant étaient de qualité
