What an incredible few days we spent at Chantil Mare. Food was above expectations, service was fantastic. Everyone who worked at the resort were welcoming. The hotel is a great place to unwind and relax. There is no loud pool music, no shows at night, just you and your partner listening to the ocean and watching the sunsets. If you want a relaxing vacation this is the place. Cudos to Chef Greg for such a fantastic menu.

This boutique hotel is AWESOME!! We LOVED our beautiful, beachfront stay @ the Chantli Mare! Owner Roberto & his beautiful wife are the most welcoming couple who immediately become your best friends. They attend to every detail of excellence for your stay. The beach is exquisite with crashing waves - a 'wellness' spa. The DECADENT meals are artistically infused with Mexican flavours by world famous Chef Greg - an AMAZING experience!

My husband and I stayed in Chantli Mare more than 10 years ago for one night and had been wanting to spend more time here again. This year we were able to visit after the long gap and were reminded of the reasons why we loved this place: secluded beach, great food, and excellent service. The staff and owners are friendly, thoughtful, and always going above and beyond. Our luggage did not arrive in time and when the staff learned about this, they came to our help by offering to do laundry for us so we could have clean clothes. Then on a separate occasion I forgot to ask for my food without dairy but the staff had remembered how i had ordered it before so my dish came without dairy. These are just two examples of the many ways the staff made us feel at home. We were there a week and got to see that others come here year after year for the same reasons just described. It took us a long time to go back to Chantli Mare and hope that our next visit will not take that long.

What an amazing experience all around! Beautiful property located in a slice of paradise. Rooms minimal but well appointed. Food is fantastic- incredible such high quality in this remote place. Staff is so welcoming and ready to help. Looking forward to my next visit.

Our 7th year spending Christmas at the Chantli Mare and we can’t wait for year 8. Roberto and his staff treat us like family and we are so grateful. We enjoy the Playa room the best but we have stayed in all the ocean facing rooms and they are perfect. The food tops off our stay. We have never had a disappointing meal. Christmas dinner is always a favorite. The beach and the water are as close to private as you can get. This is a hidden gem and selfishly I hope it stays that way.

Negative: bed and blanket synthetic (sweaty nights for me); obnoxious chemical smell of air-fresheners in room and hotel corridors; no staff at reception; sometimes long waiting times at lunch in restaurant; no cushions avaiable for the hard beach loungers; no parasols on the beach available that can be moved, so one has to stay under the fixed parasols by the hotel, in close proximity to the other guests; no ice-cream in the restaurant; no solo-travellers in hotel, mainly eldlerly Mexican and America couples; no grocery stores nearby; rec Positive: very beautiful, quiet sandy beach with coconut palm trees; yummy food in restaurant; small hotel; colourful walls in rooms

We went for several meals while staying in the locality and found the service didn't match the compulsory 15% automatic tip. It seems odd that a restaurant won't serve coffee before 10 a.m. on a Sunday morning, althought resident guests were tucking into a rather large pot of coffee and breakfast. Something gave me the impression that they don't like passing trade in this establishment. The food is not cheap but dinners are really good. I had tuna one evening and the Viet noodles another evening - both dishes were beyond good. Breakfast another morning however was a rather poor affair - two pieces of (supermarket bread) toasted, a bowl of fruit (including a half fig) with yogurt and two coffees was more than US$20. The service would want to improve substantially before I would return.

Lugar ideal para pasar unas vacaciones muy placenteras. El hotel es pequeño, muy agradable y está ubicado en una playa hermosa rodeada de cerros llenos de vegetación. El propietario y todo el personal se distinguen por su amabilidad y calidez. Quiero reconocer de manera especial a la señora Norma López a cargo del área de reservaciones, así como a Giovani y María del área de comedor por su espléndida atención.
