Beste Hotels mit Bar in La Fortuna

Whilst this is technically a hostel, it is far better than some hotels we stayed in! Rooms are great (good air con, hot water, good storage); facilities superb (pool, business lounge, kitchen/food prep area, pool table, great bar); well organised trips (the zip line followed by hot springs is a must!); very helpful staff; and the food delicious (tuna steak with salad delightful)

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights as part of a trip with GAdventures booked through trail finders in the UK. We were checked in to what I think must have been the worst room in the hotel. It was at the back and over looked a side alley. We quickly showered and went to meet our group for dinner. When we got back, we noticed this god- damn awful smell which was coming from the drains and the water hadn't drained from our shower a few hrs earlier. Drains are notoriously bad across CR. We went to reception and the guy couldn't have cared less. We insisted he come and smell for himself. Well, he just couldn't have been more patronising or belittling. He said he couldn't smell it, he accused us of 'just showering' when we showed him the water and refused to do anything ie is clear the smell or move us. He said quite clearly numerous times, the hotel was full. We were left with no choice than to contact our Rep. Strangley enough we were given a different and much better room immediately. When we left, a lady came to our bus, thanked us for our custom and said they are a family run hotel. Clearly explained why the chap on reception couldn't give a hoot - he was hardly going to be sacked! Young ish guy, curly hair tied back in a pony tail. Poor Ester who came to say goodbye has no idea. He best things about this hotel are the friendly staff in the bar below, the view of the volcano from the terrace, and its only a shirt walk from the best place to eat in town- the rainforest cafe opposite (and Andreas is the best server!) but apart from that, I'd avoid it at all costs

Großzügige Zimmer als Bungalows mit 2 Terrassen und toller, top-gepflegter Bepflanzung drumherum, modernes Bad, bequemes Bett, alles absolut sauber. Der Sonnenauf- und untergang auf der Terrasse mit Blick zu dem perfekt geformten Vulkankegel ist einfach nur schön ... bei all der Ruhe, in der so ziemlich jedes kleine natürliche Geräusch zu hören ist. Die Service-Leute sind richtig toll: immer freundlich und zuvorkommend, ohne aufdringlich zu sein, dabei sind auch manch lustige Typen. Das Restaurant ist in all dem schönen Ambiente außergewöhnlich passend modern, die Gerichte sind auf gehobenem Niveau vielfältig (meine Auswahl davon war lecker), dazu gibt es im Restaurant einen ”Weinkeller” in Form eines wohltemperierten ”Wintergartens” (ich bin zwar eher ein Rotweintrinker, aber die verlangten Preise wollte ich echt zahlen). Wer das nötige. Es gibt auch einen (etwas anspruchsvollen) Wanderweg (keine Flip-Flops anziehen): kaum jemand läuft einem über den Weg, außer Pfeilgiftfröschen und Tuberkelhokkos, in den Bäumen sind Faultiere zu sehen und so manch anderes. Alles in allem war mein Aufenthalt hier äußerst erholsam, wobei ich nicht mal den Spa-Bereich genutzt habe.

The staff are very friendly and respond quickly to emails, the hotel is in a central good and known by most people. There are lots of stores near the hotel including a pharmacy, a bakery and spa (right next door) and some sodas. The room is clean - I saw no roaches or spiders during my stay (in an upper-floor room). The breakfast is also decent. The doors lock very well and La Fortuna is a very safe area in Costa Rica, so I didn't have to be overly concerned for my safety. The views of the volcano were really good from my hotel room and there is a frog pond and a sloth on the hotel grounds. What could be improved - Wifi was not reliable which was a problem across all of Costa Rica (luckily for me I had a good connection from my phone network provider) - The charging port was located a bit far away from the bed which meant I had to use one of the room chairs as a temporary stand for my phone to charge and to silence my alarm every morning quickly - The hot water in the shower only lasted around 30 minutes (in the dry season, this wouldn't be a problem) but if you take longer than 30 minutes to shower + wash your hair this may be a problem - The tours booked through the hotel can be quite pricy, for better rates it is better to book the tours yourself possibly through Viator. That being said the tour agency the hotel uses (Canoa Adventura are very good) Overall I would stay at this hotel again and would recommend it for all but especially more (budget-conscious) travellers.

Great location, walk to shops and restaurants. Free secure parking available in front of the hotel with 24 front desk staff, or a block away in a secure lot. Check in and check out was easy, staff were accommodating and friendly. Prices are reasonable for location and amenities. we ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant 2x, it was very good, with a nice atmosphere. The pool looked inviting, although we did not take advantage of it. We were in room 3, over the front door facing the street. We could see our car out front(comforting), and had a great view of the church and park grounds. Bed was very comfortable(great pillows), air conditioning worked well, and the shower was decent! Being downtown, it is very busy, but we were not bothered by noise at night, really loved being able to walk everywhere, and could even see the volcano from our room.

Sehr schönes Hotel etwas außerhalb von La Fortuna. Mit dem Auto ist man aber sehr schnell im Zentrum. Check-in und Check-out schnell und unkompliziert. Sehr schönes Zimmer im Erdgeschoss bekommen. Es war Nebensaison, deshalb auch nicht so voll. Sehr schönes Pool zum schwimmen. Die kleinen Thermal-Pools sahen leider nicht so schön und gepflegt aus, wie auf den Bildern. Großes Zimmer mit zwei großen Betten. Kühlschrank, TV, Klimaanlage, Schrank, kleiner Tisch mit Stühlen, Kaffeemaschine, Regenschirm, Safe, großes Bad mit großer Dusche, traumhafte Pflegeprodukte in kleinen Fläschchen. Einziger Nachteil: Die Hauptfenster im Zimmer hatten beim Verschließen einen Spalt in der Mitte, so dass ggf. Mücken ins Zimmer kommen konnten. Das Hotel hat auch einen kleinen Natur Trail durch den Dschungel mit einen kleinen Fluss/Bach. Haben aber leider keine Tiere gesehen. Die Anlage ist sehr gepflegt, auch wenn alles etwas älter ist, es hat definitiv Charme. Das Frühstück im Restaurant war wirklich ausgezeichnet. Tolles Flair. Super freundlicher Service. Wir würden definitiv wieder kommen.

We spent 3 nights at this resort, which began our Costa Rica adventure. Upon arrival, we were given a complimentary upgrade to a junior suite! The room was large with refrigerator, balcony, sitting area, and a large bathroom (separate bathtub & shower). The hot springs were a welcome relaxation after days of hiking. The resort was an easy drive into La Fortuna. The staff was great - a wonderful beginning to our vacation!
