The hotels had the following issues: 1. Malfunctioning air conditioning: The cold air woke me up every night; the air conditioning could not cope with the cold air in Hokkaido; 2. Poor service: they promised me a double bed room, but eventually gave me a twin bedroom; 3. Cleanliness: Dust on floor and inside air conditioner; 4. Low quality dinner: they gave you completely frozen meat for bbq; they arranged a staff who couldn’t sing to sing whole night during your dinner 5. Security: they didn’t even register your passport when check in; everyone else could enter the hotel easily To conclude, they tried to give you everything you need, but nothing could meet Japan standard that you are expecting. I eventually had to check out one night earlier for some quality sleep, without any refund of course.
