Very good location. Just 2mins walk from unazaki station and great if u will take he kurobe gorge railway as its just 2mins walk to station as well. The hotel is clean, but too old.
Feel Unazuki has an old-world charm about it. We went back after 14 years and we were glad to stay again! The price is also very reasonable compared to other hotels. The hotel is just next to the Unazuki Onsen Station, the last stop of the Toyama Chiho Railway. We were welcomed by friendly counter staff and a pair of giant soft-toy Raicho birds. Our room had a view of the town, the Railway and the hills, cloaked in mist. It was a traditional Japanese room the area of 8-tatami mats with an en-suite toilet (without shower facilities). The room was cool in the day and the night as we opened the windows and turned off the air-conditioning. The futons provided were very comfortable and afforded us two nights of good sleep. The hotel staff were also attentive and personally called us to check if the bento dinner sets provided were to our liking. Bright, floral yukata robes are available near the lobby of each floor. There are separate male and female onsens in the hotel, located on different floors. There is an indoor and outdoor onsen for the male/female onsen. As this hotel is not as up-market as others in the town, we didn't meet with other guests at the onsen when we used it and had the whole onsen to ourselves. From the outdoor onsen, we could view the surrounding hills and the night sky. There was a nice spread of food for buffet breakfast. The orange Kurobe Gorge Railway is a short 1-min walk from the hotel. There are souvenir shops at the KGR station, within the Unazuki Onsen Station and opposite the UO station. One of the souvenir shops had a cute Akita at the counter. There are few dining places open for dinner. If you're looking for piping hot food and Unazuki beer, check out Sasaya, located near the Mozart cafe. It was already around 14 years ago. The owners now are a friendly middle-aged couple. There's a foot bath near to Sasaya.
