Golden Sun

Friendly owners. Rooms need modernising as very tired and a little scruffy. Some issues with mosquitoes.

Great stay and good location but be aware that if you are 4 guests, you will be asked to pay extra for 4th person on arrival. And if you require to use the air conditioning, you will be asked to pay extra per day on arrival.

We had a two bedroom apartment which was a great size, the two bedrooms came off the kitchen/living area. The balcony was a good size with views over to the salt lake. The room was basic old traditional Greek style but lovely and clean. The pool and bar area were lovely, great pool which was never busy, food was good, again the area was lovely and clean. The family who owned the apartments were friendly and helpful. Golden Sun was in a lovely area, not far from the beach and restaurants and bars. A word of warning to check your room at night for mosquitoes, even with the mosquito net and repellent myself and husband had quite a few bites. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

I loved the family atmosphere and how small it was. George ,Sophia ,Soula and the family were always around and the pool area was never full with plenty of sunbeds for everyone. Food was cooked fresh and I'm sure the veg came from their beautiful garden. Our balcony overlooked the salt lakes and a field with chickens, cows and goats. The sun going down was like silver shimmer over the lake. The rooms were spotless though some TLC in areas were needed. Towels, sheets etc... great. Our shower was excellent always hot and powerful, unfortunately my daughters would not hang up but she didn't mind. I didn't use the kitchen facilities but it looked as if it had everything though a bit of a mish mash with plates, cups etc.. Probably does need better glasses but I managed fine. I have stayed in a lot of places in Tigaki and I would definitely return. The only minor problem was the noise from other guests, (very loud a mixture of nationalities that didn't seen to have respect for other guests} Normally I wouldn't care but 2am onwards it was ridiculous .

We've just returned from a 10 day stay at the Golden Sun Apartments. There were 16 of us in total and we all had a wonderful time. The apartments are family run and you are made to feel so welcome from the minute you arrive. Special thanks to Soula who made our stay so great and was always on hand to assist us, even keeping the snack bar open late for us when we wanted to have dinner round the pool. The apartments are situated in a great location. A short walk to the main strip with plenty of bars and restaurants. A short walk to the beautiful beach and a great bakery a few minutes away. You have wonderful views of the mountains, salt lake and farm land. The area is peaceful and quiet, yet close to all amenities. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which although dated was spotlessly clean and comfortable. It included all you need for a self catering holiday, fridge, kettle and cooking rings. It also had air con and mosquito nets on all window and doors which is a great addition. The pool area is lovely and clean. A decent sized pool (very deep!) and a nice children's pool with slide. A little enclosed play park which was a godsend for the children as well as a pool table. The snack bar was great and everything we had from there was fresh and delicious, especially the homemade chips. It had a great selection of food as well as crepes and ice creams. A massive hit with the children! If we return to Kos which we hope we will, we would not hesitate to stay here again. Missing it already!

Golden, Golden Sun What a fantastic stay at Golden Sun Apartments! From booking and the great communication with George, to the food at the snack bar, and our lovely 2 bed apartment. This is the perfect location. Gorgeous pool. Nice and quiet. A very short (5mins or less) walk to the main strip. Bars and reataurants in abundance and only another few minutes walk to the beach. I'm already looking to book again!
