Die Speisen und Getränke des Hotels sind fantastisch (im Bild), das Frühstück ist sehr reichhaltig und das chinesische Buffet ist auch dasselbe (der RMB liegt bei fast 200). Der Service war sehr rücksichtsvoll. Eine Nacht vor dem Check-out rief die Rezeption im Zimmer an, um Informationen zum Flug zu erhalten. Als ich wusste, dass es sich um einen Flug um 17 Uhr handelte, gab ich sofort an, dass ich die Check-out-Zeit auf halb zwei verlängern könnte. Jedes Mal, wenn ich ausgehe, wird das Personal des Concierge den Uber benutzen, um das Auto anzurufen, und ich werde mich nicht darum kümmern. Auch die Zimmerreinigung war sehr sorgfältig. Beim nächsten Mal entscheide ich mich fürs Leben. Der Nachteil ist, dass der Markt auf beiden Seiten der Tür zu peinlich ist und ich nachts nicht spazieren gehen kann, aber das Hotel ist schallisoliert und das Betreten des Eisentors ist eine andere ruhige Welt. Auch die Toilettenspülung braucht Kraft. Außerdem perfekt.

I shall start from arrival at the hotel. We were a family of four who had booked two rooms at the property. We arrived around 14:30 Hrs (at least 30 mins after the designated check-in time). First of all, although the check-in desk at the hotel is quite huge, there were only 3 staff members manning the desk, all of them occupied. We had to wait for around 15 mins, looking here and there like ****** with our bags on before someone greeted us. And I do not mind waiting for check-in; what I do mind is that despite multiple staff members seeing us wait, not one of them acknowledge our presence and asked us to take a seat and wait. They would all look at us and carry on. Forget a warm smile, forget a namaste, we were made to feel like fools just standing there without anyone attending to us. When we finally did get a chance to check in, we were given two adjacent rooms. The key to one room was handed over to us, and we were told that the second room is not ready yet and that as soon as it is ready the key would be sent to us in our room. We said okay and moved towards our room. Once in our room, all four of us sat waiting in one room for around 45 mins for the key to the second room. We were not able to unpack because we wanted to unpack in our respective rooms. Tired and hungry, we left the hotel to get ourselves some lunch and some sightseeing, hoping that by the time we return our second room would be ready. When we returned and asked for the key to the second room from the reception desk, we were told that the room that was allocated to us had been now given to someone else -- and we were given some other room that was ”close” to the first room. I understand that asking for adjacent rooms is a mere request and not a right. But had we been given a ”close” room earlier, we could have gotten the keys earlier at the time of check-in! We waited for a room for so long, only for it to be given to someone else. Fast forward to the next morning's breakfast. The spread was quite good and quite diverse in variety. However, again the entire staff at the breakfast looked tense for some reason. And they kept messing up with live counter orders. No one had a smile on, no one welcomed you with warmth, and no one made you feel as if you were staying in a 5-star hotel (which The Lalit considers itself to be). Our entire experience with The Lalit was below par at the very least. It was not the kind of experience you would expect from a branded property that so conveniently calls itself a luxury 5-star property. I honestly feel for the money that I paid, I could and should have gotten a different property and that would have been definitely better. For the foreseeable future, and till things change, I do not see myself staying at any Lalit property.

We recently visited Taj Bengal to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and our experience was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and exceptional hospitality. Every staff member we encountered was courteous and attentive, making us feel truly special. A special shoutout to Mr. Sanjib Ghosh, who went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect for our stay. His attention to detail and care made all the difference. A big thank you as well to Miss Shreya for beautifully decorating our room—it added such a personal touch to the celebration. Taj Bengal truly made this birthday celebration a memorable one, and we can't wait to visit again. Highly recommended!

Der Service ist in der Regel langsam und muss kontinuierlich beschleunigt werden. Die Türkarte kann nicht für einen halben Tag geöffnet werden, um zu helfen, sie zu lösen, obwohl die Einstellung möglich ist, aber die Arbeitseffizienz ist nicht hoch. Die Klarheit der anderen Betten muss verbessert werden.

Der Eingangsbereich mit Marmor ist typisch ITC toll. Leider ist auch dieses Hotel sehr groß und recht überlaufen und somit recht unpersönlich, aber durchweg standard freundlich. Das Ambiente im Hotel ist sehr schön, die Zimmer sauber und ordentlich. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Terrasse. Lieder war diese Terrasse jedoch unbrauchbar, da alles voller Tauben und Taubendreck war. Auch die Stühle waren voll davon. Zwar wurde nach einem Anruf sofort gereinigt, aber nach 1 Stunde war wieder alles voll. Der Taubenschutz ist nicht vollständig und gut installiert und sollte verbessert werden. So macht ein Zimmer mit Garten keinen Sinn. Auch ist der Blick aus dem Fenster so doch recht unappetitlich. Auch wurden die Fenster und Türen wohl seit längerem nicht geputzt. Die Luxury hour in der Bar war toll und die Auswahl an Getränken ausgezeichnet. Jedoch war es bezüglich Essensbestellungen dort sehr unflexibel. Am Ende bestellten wir gar nichts… Uns hat das italienische Restaurant gut gefallen. Die Empfangsdamen beim Frühstück könnten freundlicher sein, wirken sehr arrogant. Da viele Tische oft nicht gleich sauber gemacht wurden, bildete sich am Eingang schnell eine lange Schlange mit Wartezeit. Vor und im Restaurant ist von Social Distancing keine Spur. Die Organisation ist recht chaotisch. Für Mitglieder sollte es einen eigenen Bereich zum Frühstück geben. Obwohl im Umfeld alle Pools wieder geöffnet hatten, war der Pool im ITC noch zu, warum auch immer. Dies ist für uns immer ein Hauptgrund, solch ein Hotel zu buchen. SPA: Die Massage Behandlung war ordentlich und ist zu empfehlen. Alles in Allem werden wir wohl nicht mehr dort übernachten, in direkter Nachbarschaft gibt es ein Hotel der Marriott Gruppe, wo *** als Gast, vor allem als Statusgast, auch entsprechend behandelt wird.

Best of the best! Es gibt Service top jedes Mal, wenn ich besuche. Md Wahid von der Front Desk ist ein fantastischer Mann und als Profi ist er am besten für diesen Job. Top-Klasse-Service wie immer. Essen war super und Zimmer war sauber. Aber als Elite-Mitglied des Bonvoy Mr. Wahid gibt nie eine Upgrade und das ist schmerzhaft 😂

Honestly speaking, the hotel was great. The location was a bit far from the airport, BUT it is located at one of the cleanest places in Kolkata, making it a huge plus. Now for the details: Room: 5/5. The decoration, the ambiance, the wall art. Lobby and other places: 5/5. Absolutely loved the design and hotel architecture. Bathroom: 3.5/5. Honestly, it is a basic bathroom, but I expected more from a 5 star hotel, even on the cheaper rooms. There was no bathtub, which I feel is fairly common everywhere I’ve stayed in. ONE PROBLEM: A major issue I have faced was after turning on the water. It had a smell, which I am guessing is from the river beside it. I feel like the Hotel should add a water filter to avoid this problem, because the smell doesn’t go away until the water is turned on for at least 5-10minutes. If I wasn’t South Asian, I probably couldn’t have taken the smell as easily as I did. I would put this in High Priority to fix for attracting many more customers. Bar and Food: 4/5. Good collection, great taste but very expensive. Lastly, a shoutout to Al Jabbar and Al Sahid from the Housecleaning service, they were extremely polite, fast, very thorough with their cleaning and very well mannered. Absolutely a delight to talk to and learn about the local areas. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Very rare to find such good hotels, with some minor flaws.

Excellent service provided by pride staff especially Ramesh Chouhan, from house keeping . Room is very comfortable and staff is very hospitable. Food is very good and service is very fast. Ambience is excellent. I would love to stay here during my future trips to Kolkata.

Es ist wirklich ein schönes Hotel. Gute Umgebung. Einige Leute werden sich über die Rückseite Bauaussicht und Lärm beschweren. Die Abholung am Flughafen hat trotz langer Wartezeit auf unser Testergebnis sehr gut geklappt. Besten Dank fürs Warten. Sehr schönes Hotel mit schöner Aussicht, alle Bereiche ordentlich sauber. Das Design in der Lobby ist gerade am Abend sehr schön. Da Personal war immer hilfsbereit. Chef Pritam hat uns sehr gut verköstigt und uns viele Wünsche erfüllt. Sehr nett. Auch war das Personal im Restaurant, vor allem Manoj und Sayan, sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Auswahl an den Buffets war stets sehr umfangreich und schmackhaft, die Desserts auch sehr gut. Die Club Lounge war nur teilweise geöffnet und wurde evtl. für private Events geschlossen, was sehr schade war, da die Lounge eigentlich sehr schön ist. Das Personal in der Bar, die als Ersatz angeboten wurde, hätte zeitweise etwas aufmerksamer sein können, war aber meist auch sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Der Poolbereich hatte leider geschlossen, es hätte aber wenigstens der Außenbereich zum Spazieren gehen auf sein können. Leider waren aber wohl auch hier viele private Events, was meiner Meinung nach in den öffentlichen Bereichen eines Hotels nicht sein sollte. Unser Housekeeper Subhamay war sehr ordentlich und freundlich und hat seine Arbeit gut gemacht.
