The Aster Heritage

TOTALLY WASTE OF MONEY, DON'T BOOK IT. NO RESTAURANT, NO HAND TOWEL PROVIDE, NO SOAP, LUNCH DINNER TO ORDER 3 HRS BEFORE AND IT WILL COME FROM OWNER'S HOME, BATHROOM WAS HORRIBLE, LIKE SERVANT'S QUATER. ITS A COMPLETE FAKE. NO RECEPTION DESK ALSO. 😄 IT IS A TOTAL FAKE HOTEL.

For budget traveler good option on Park Street and very close to many tourist attractions. Room is good size mattress very hard but OK, bathroom shower not the best very weak water supply. Remembering it’s a 3 star property so on that I give it 4 stars mainly due to location. Also note lot of street noise with car horns, people in Calcutta love blown horn.

The Aster Heritage will mesmerise you with its modern yet old world charm. Designed aesthetically with a vintage gramophone kolkata pictures and large beds- keeping the comfort of the guest, and the same is reflected in the service their team will provide. Be it being served iced tea upon arrival to the delicious home made meals they offer- this place is more than you can ask for. The place is spotless clean and they have round the clock service for anything that you may request for. They will do it with a smile. Aster Heritage has different categories of rooms you can choose from and is very reasonably priced for the amenities. I have been a regular visitor of their property and I’m extremely satisfied with them. I highly recommend, look no where else and go for this property. You will love it 😊

This was our third and last stay in this place. We chose this place looking at the photos and the impressive descriptions in their website. In reality, the place is poorly maintained. Considering that it is housed in nearly a century old historical building named Stephen Court, that once caught fire in March 2010 – it is expected that the maintenance following that tragedy should have been such that it would be safe for the inmates thereafter. But alas!! It is not so. First of all being right on busy Park Street – it is noisy right through the day – till at least late evening. Secondly – there is NO parking available for visitors. Cabs need to be parked far away from it – in case one is fortunate enough to find one – otherwise one has to be at the mercy of God. In August 2022 when we came it had been raining incessantly and the walls were dripping (through the AC also – to my horror!! See the photos! – unfortunately I cant attach the video of this episode!) Well this was rectified after we raised a hue and cry last time. Also the kitchen hygiene and washroom sanitation is not up to the mark. Basically the place was being managed very efficiently by two caretakers – Naren and Tarak – both of whom are excellent supports and they tried their level best to address all the grievances. Naren unfortunately was missing this time and so Mr Tarak this time was overloaded with the work of taking care of the inmates – which he did with a smile of course! But this is not the ideal situation and certainly not the best example of hospitality. You will find dysfunctional plug points in the room – both taps in the washroom producing hot water ( it was mentioned that it’s because the water in the overhead tank was getting heated – which ideally should be addressed before they rent out their accommodation). So finally we were gifted with a bucket of cold water to make do for the day!! On top of everything, the owner attempted a number of times to shift us from one room to the other, but since we were not sure if it would be a case of ‘frying pan to fire’ we resisted. I realised that they don’t have inverters in case of power failure – which happened this time and we were left high and dry – not knowing what to do!! Book at your own risk!!

Comfortable, safe, clean and pretty, located in the finest area with the most helpful staff and an always available host. Whether you're traveling solo or with friends and family, I'd highly recommend Aster Heritage!

Comfortable and spacious, Aster Heritage has an old soul. Very plush with old school designs and new age comfort! We were taken care of well. They even accommodated us on short notice after we had a horrific experience wrt accommodation in Kolkata! Definitely consider staying here on your next visit! I know I will.
