"We stayed here for 3 days on a half board basis. The check in process was seamless. Our room was quite spacious but cleanliness was not up to the mark. I found floss, and a couple small items under the sink. Our used coffee cups were not rinsed and used glasses were not taken away. We had to place these outside the room after which they were cleared. Breakfast buffet had plenty of selections and variety. Dinner offering was limited on couple days due to Passover. Property has adult pool and kiddie pools with great views of the Sea of Galilee. Roof top bar offers great views of the city."

Gai Beach Hotel

"A massive disappointment. "Excellent" service for your money... I don't have an issue with a small room, but I do have a serious problem with a strong mold smell coming from the AC. Airing out the room wasn't even an option because they installed an industrial exhaust fan right outside that makes a crazy amount of noise. We are a family of 5, with two kids and a 3-month-old baby, and we were forced to stay awake all night due to the noise—just so the baby wouldn't have to breathe in mold. As for the balcony, there’s nothing to see except total neglect. The service? We asked for towels twice last night; it’s now morning and we are still waiting. And if you get lonely, don't worry—there are cockroaches in the restroom to keep you company. It’s just a shame they didn't bring the towels we asked for with them. Terrible value for money."

The Scots Hotel

"We just returned home from Israel where we spent three nights of our trip a the Scots Hotel in Tiberias. It's a beautiful historic property with several separate stone buildings. Our room itself didn't have a view of the sea but the hotel is situated right across the street from the Galilee so every time you walk out onto the lushly landscaped grounds you can admire the view of the sea. The pool area is gorgeous as well. Across the street there is also a promenade you can walk on with some shops, etc. We stayed in the building called "Doctor's House" on the second floor. It was so pretty and sweetly decorated in accordance with the style of the time (a comfy four-poster king bed, hardwood furniture, a divan and table as well as a desk). There's a Nespresso machine in the room as well as a filtered drinking water machine that dispenses hot and cold water. The bathroom was nice and spacious. We really enjoyed the included breakfast and dinner buffet every day which was quite excellent. There was a huge variety of food and everything was delicious. The dining area was spacious and tranquil. We only encountered a larger tour group on one night of our stay. The rest of our time there we only only saw independent travelers. Even on the night that the larger group was there, it wasn't too crowded. There are three large seating areas. Service was always professional and friendly, from the front desk to housekeeping to the bellmen. Everything was as it should be. We really loved our time at The Scots. We're very glad to have stayed there as we had heard from friends that there are not very many nice hotels in the Galilee area. This one was perfect and we would definitely recommend!"

"hi i stayed at your hotel this past Shabbos and had the worst experience i ever had in a hotel.please understand that for anyone living in a decent normal apartment staying in you hotel is a downgrade in every way imaginable the rooms are small stuffy and uglythe beds are the source of an instant backache the pillows or marshmallows are a source of a 3 day migraine headachehow could anyone call this a vacationthe hospital in which my wife gave birth in had very similar accommodations"

Shirat Hayam Boutique Hotel

"This was a fantastic place for years to sit and have an early breakfast right by the Sea. The place has obviously switched ownership because hospitality is last on the list. They seemed to cage in the patio with plastic for reasons most tourists would not understand; to much heat too much rain to much wind. All the reasons patio cafe's have indoor seating if the elements are too bad. Coupled with workers and servers that ignore you, I don't know how this place stays open. So sad it was such a quaint place to go."

Europa 1917 - Mehadrin Kosher Suitable for Ultra-Orthodox Guests

"Historic hotel with characterful rooms and gorgeous traditional reception area BUT that was where it ended. The service and cleaning were poor, there was trash left on my balcony from a previous guest and all the corridors and common areas looked dusty and in need of a good vacuum. The pool area was filthy, the sun loungers were stained and patio tables and chairs dirty and unwashed. It did not look inviting and the pool seemed chained the entire time we were there (apparently there is a life guide sometime during the day when we were out sightseeing but in the afternoons when we returned it was always closed up; however since it looked so dirty we would not have swum anyway). Most of the hotel is closed (spa, sauna, 5th floor terrace, evening restaurant and pool bar - all closed with no mention of this on the website). It is definitely not a five star hotel and was a massive rip-off in terms of price. I would give it three stars for the charming old style rooms and fairly decent breakfast buffet if you can turn a blind eye and ignore all the other areas which are a bit gross and if they lower their exorbitant prices. If you decide to ignore the bad reviews like we did, and book there anyway, be warned to lower your expectations."
