Khunyuam Resort

Khun Yuam Resort isn't in Khun Yuam but a few km west at the entrance of Tor Pae village so you will definitely need your own transportation to make it work easily. But if you have this, it's worth making your way here. We stayed two nights but would have been happy to stay more just to sit and watch the view from morning until dark. We stayed in an end room on the top floor in the main building which was just fine but do note that the walls are not super sound proof - and if you are out on the balcony or if others are out on the balcony you'll hear everything. But the rooms were clean and safe - though showing their age a little and could use a touch up of paint. If you have the budget, definitely stay in one of the 4 luxury rooms (divided between two tall stone/wood houses - featured in most of the photos) - definitely worth it. Views are fantastic with wrap around windows and a lovely window bed as well as the main bed. You really won't want to leave these rooms. As others have said, you'll enter the property leaving the main paved road onto a rutted dirt road. There's not a real check in area, just find one of the family in the dining area. This is a family run operation and Jeap, Jai (also the main cook) and Nuuk will look after you well and give suggestions if needed. We were there before high season so there were 2-3 set breakfast options but during high season I believe they have more of a buffet set up - and meals can be ordered at lunch and in the evening also. Coffee/tea is available anytime. A few years ago before more lodging opened up in the Buatong fields area, this was one of the main places people stayed to visit the flowers. You can walk from the property to the fields and demonstration farm/gardens that you look down upon from your room and the meandering porch. You can walk into the village of Dor Pae also - but again transport is helpful. Use it as a stop if you are doing the Maehongson Loop but I highly recommend it for the view - whether one night or many nights, it will calm your soul for sure.

The place, the view, the owners, the food, the cats... Amazing... Cannot fault it and would highly recommend staying. We stayed 1 night, while doing the Mae Hong Son Loop... Would have stayed over another night, but was fully booked! Just book it, I promise you won't regret it... Especially the top floor rooms. I took so many pictures of the view, which constantly changed minute by minute..

Het is een beetje moeilijk te vinden en in the middle of nowhere maar absoluut waard om te bezoeken. De eigenaar doet zijn uiterste best om het je naar de zin te maken. Hij offerde zelfs om ons naar een restaurant te brengen omdat dit ver lopen was. Wij zijn met de motor gereden en het restaurant was een goede aanbeveling. Kamer zijn erg simple maar wel met een prachtig uitzicht.
