Eriva Hotel

The hotel in general was good and the breakfasts were good too but the bathroom and room cleaning were dreadful. During our two weeks stay the room wasn’t cleaned once. When I asked why I was told it was only done every three to four days. The bin in the bathroom was only emptied when I complained. We waited another 4 days, then 5 days for clean sheets and towels. The bathroom wasn’t cleaned during our stay either. Also we had 2 toilet rolls the whole time and was told we had to buy our own when they ran out. Jet2 advertised this as 3 star, we have been to many Greek islands and have never had to buy our own toilet paper. I’ve added some photos of the bathroom, which includes shoddy tiles and shower head, also creepy crawlers in the shower tray.

Some of the apartments have been renovated, unfortunately the one we were allocated had not been and bears no resemblance to either the hotels own website or Jet2 photos. The rooms are basic even by greek standards, maintenance leaves a lot to be desired as does cleaning. 4 people left due to problems with their apartments demanding Jet2 find them other accommodation, problem with the balcony. The roof in another apartment on the top floor leaked in one of the bedrooms when we had torrential rain, 3 times in 10 days Bathroom was little more than a small wet room, no shower screen or curtain so you have to leave towels outside. Each room is given 2 toilet rolls on arrival regardless of how long you are staying, after that you have to buy your own. Wall tiles in the bathroom were dirty, obviously not cleaned between guests. Kitchen facilities & utensils are totally inadequate. Kitchen and toilet waste bins emptied every other day. Beds very uncomfortable, sheets changed once a week, towels twice. No sign of mosquitos in the apartment but we were constantly bitten by something. Staff were helpful, especially reception, but there's only so much they can do, the main problems are down to the owners. Could not wait to leave.

Recently stayed at the Eriva with my mum. We were in a 2 bedroom apartment with a pool and Mountain View which was beautiful. The apartment was a good size and had a hob and kettle - I would have liked a toaster or toastie maker to make a snack in the room. There was a hairdryer, good amount of storage space and the shower was always powerful and hot early evening, A lot of reviews state only 2 toilet rolls allowed however we were given 2 every other day when room was cleaned. The pool was lovely and clean, my mum enjoyed the English breakfast in the mornings - I don’t generally eat breakfast but the 2 days I ate something light they were well cooked and tasted nice. Staff were all nice and the manager was pleasant to chat with at the bar in the evening. The hotel was busy but wasn’t loud- there was a nice atmosphere of chatter, laughter and music from the bar which wasn’t loud. Great location- short walk to the town and to the beach front.

Have just returned ,decided to leave early due to the appauling weather, can't blame anyone for that. We were due to fly back on the Sunday but Jet2 were really good and managed to get us on an earlier flight a few days before we were due to leave ( Well done Jet2) . So you can imagine our surprise when the hotel at 10am the morning of our departure told us to pay 30 euro or leave the room at 11am that's the checking out time. We did explain we were not due to leave until the Sunday and had paid for the room until then, this fell on deaf ears, so after a call to the manager from Jet2 and explained that they cannot do this they said they would return the 30 Euro, so on handing in the keys the Managers wife ( Who is quite a disrespectful lady actually reminds me of a carry on film head mistress) Rudely denied any knowledge of this until her husband ( Who was actually a nice guy ) explained and apologised she reluctantly refunded the money. We went home because of the bad weather, we never complained about the room even thought , the fridge was broke (I repaired) the toilet was broke ( I repaired) plug sockets hanging out , Bathroom 3ft x 5ft door nearly hits the toilet when you open it, no extractor fan so condensation has made all the grouting around the tiles black and mouldy , and a crazy rule of no matter how long you are staying you only get two toilet rolls. A gentleman running into the resturant panicking that his balcony was clasping and the managers wife rolling her eyes at every customer and her husband quite alot.

The pool and bar area are excellent and the staff are very friendly. They were always on hand to help and have a late night drink. Rooms are pretty basic but clean and well kept. Short walk to local bars, restaurants and the beach. A short walk to the main town and supermarkets.

Eriva is a great local hotel in Acharavi. Excellent customer service from Emilios and his team. We had a two bed apartment, it was a typical greek room which was basic but well provided for self catering and clean. Lots of beds around the pool. Good food at the restaurant and snack bar at very reasonable prices. Live entertainment with a greek night midweek and a great acoustic Rock guitarist on Sundays. Close to the pebble beach with an excellent range of bars and restaurants, and fabulous sunsets. The main street is also close with a great supermarket, bakery, cash machine, local tour operators, everything you need really. We stayed for a week and will return again next year. A great little find, excellent value for money!

As a couple, we spent 5 nights here in early June and were really pleased as it fitted our expectations of a quiet, relaxing short break. It's quiet location is a 5 minute walk to the beach, with it's lovely restaurants, great views of Albania and picturesque sunsets and a 5 minute walk the other way to the small town with a few bars, restaurants and shops, was perfect. The bar and pool area are fantastic too and all the staff at the hotel were great. The rooms were a decent size and comfortable enough and met our expectations for the money we paid. Do not expect 5 star accommodation unless you are paying for it. We would definitely return, even for a longer trip with family. The hotel does do a bit of entertainment a couple of times a week including a Greek night if you don't want to venture out. Roda is also a walkable distance away if you need a change of scenery.

We have just returned from a week stay at Eriva. We had the most amazing time here and were made to feel so welcome. The staff are absolutely lovely, we wanted for nothing. Our three children aged 10, 5 and 4 all enjoyed equally. The pool was super clean and safe, the apartment was immaculate and comfortable with beautiful views and the location is great. I can't recommend this place enough. We shall definitely be returning in the future.

Eriva is classed as a 3 Star and the review is written against this rating and not what some might assess it against on a broader basis. The staff are very friendly and facilities quite comfortable but in my opinion this should be rated as a 2 Star compared to many others we have stayed in. Just little more attention to detail would make this place much better. Two door handles were off but could be used "carefully", Cleaning and changing towels were only every other day, redundant key holes just blocked with toilet tissue instead of blanking off etc etc. The location is good, food and drink priced as per others within the area. Overall OK with the price we paid against other 2/3 star ratings.
