The Inn at English Meadows

The Inn at English Meadows is in a good location, just a short walk to Kennebunkport and its many restaurants and shops, as well as Gooch's Beach. It is not far from Ogunquit Playhouse and the Marginal Way. We stayed in "Sunrise" during our three night visit to the Inn. It is a bright room perfect for early risers and located on the second floor on the front side of the home. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. We just had some issues with the toilet running during the night. We were there for three breakfasts and the weather was nice so we were served on the patio. We enjoyed the French Toast with strawberries, yogurt with berries, and watermelon with warm honey. Two out of three mornings egg dishes were served and I chose not eat those. I requested just the English muffin one morning which took a while. Coffee is available from 7:30-10:00 AM and there is an Espresso machine for those who like that.

My husband and I recently stayed at The Inn at English Meadows for a winter getaway and had a great time. The building has been tastefully updated, with modern additions including a state of the art wine bar, lovely sitting areas, outdoor sitting areas for the warmer months, and delicious breakfasts, served by friendly and efficient staff. Carmen and Jane were helpful in answering our questions and in listening to our preferences, so that they could assist us in finding great places to eat, walk and to get to know the area during the winter season. Our room was lovely, with a very comfortable bed, thoughtful amenities, and an in-wall fireplace, which was a cozy added feature for the Maine winter. We look forward to returning in the warmer months, but fully enjoyed exploring this lovely area of Southern Maine during the winter and returning each night to this wonderful Inn.

The Innkeeper exceeded all of our expectations. We stayed three nights in Feb 2025 and will return to the Inn at English Meadows the next time we’re in the Kennebunkport area. I’ll plan to stay longer than three nights. Stores and restaurants are easily accessible. It was magical.

We have stayed at many B&Bs over the years and have to say our stay here ranks as one the best. Highlights include: Room was clean and spacious while the inn was very comfortable overall. Great location in which you can easily walk to the shops and restaurants in Kennebunkport. The owner Diane and housekeeper Amber were very friendly and welcoming. And finally some of the best breakfast meals we have had. Can’t wait to visit again.

Very warm and comfortable inn. Diane was the best inn keeper, very friendly and informative. The breakfast was outstanding! The Maine coast is beautiful, lots of quality local restaurants, great destination. We’ll definitely be back for another relaxing and romantic getaway!

I only stayed here one night in early July 2024, but I’d certainly return. I liked the “light touch” approach of the place. During my time there, I didn’t come in contact much with the owner or management for that matter. But I never felt like if I needed something it would be hard to get. I liked sitting by the firepit in the rear of the Inn at night with a glass of wine as well as falling asleep in sumptuous Frette bed sheets. On that note, the beds are extremely soft, comfortable and outfitted with arguably the best bedding in the world. I really have nothing negative to say.
