Me and my partner stayed last night, really lovely as soon as you walk through the door, the reception staff didn’t even acknowledge we were there, besides glancing over at us at least 4times before bringing their conversation to an end after a few minutes. Then one lady from reception said ‘name?’ Abruptly, and we instantly got the impression that the staff had little care to be there. After a few moments of tapping on the computer and finishing her conversation, disregarding the fact we were stood there, we were then handed a card to which my response was ‘what’s the room number’ in which I was ignored, in which case we weren’t told where to go to get there. Anyway, after finding our rooms we settled down everything seemed fine. On the way to the restaurant we asked for a table, where the same woman from reception asked if we’d already booked we said no, she sighed and rolled her eyes and then took us to a table , s’pose I can fit you in’ (There were only 3 other tables of people, one person per table) we were asked ‘what drinks d’ya want’ without a care in the world, I asked for an apple cider to which she shouted across the restaurant ‘have we got any apple cider ‘ to which another lady shouted back ‘no’ so I asked for blood orange cider in which the same situation occurred, my partner asked for Rioja (wine) and as the waitress, you would expect they know what they’re doing, but instead she asked my partner whilst leaning across the table “can ya show me what that is I’ll have to copy it “ anyway, drinks came really fast then we waited half an hour for one bowl of nachos to share which didn’t look the most appetising , presentation wasn’t present in the slightest and the beef chille we asked for on top looked more like something of a dogs rear end, not long after, our mains arrived, my lasagne was burnt and stuck to the side of the plate and the salad was warm and half soggy, and my partner had steak and ale pie which he said he only ate because he doesn’t like wasting food. We had also asked for another Rioja, when the same waitress /receptionist approached, she then, to our great surprise, asked me if I could tell her what Rioja was, to which a few minutes later, she returned AGAIN, and said “ did you want wine or cider “. When she brought the wine it was in a very large gin glass, and the other young lady apologised and laughed exclaiming they had no wine glasses left. I passed comment to my partner that the empty wine glass that had been left on our table for at least 10 minutes could have easily been wash and reused. On our way back up to the room there were 2 members of staff taking away laundry and rudely walked straight in front of us when they clearly saw us, and didn’t have the courtesy to step a side or even apologise that they had blocked the corridor off to the lift (we’d walked a mountain a few hours earlier and weren’t wanting to take the stairs). The staff in general last night didn’t seem attentive or approachable / caring
