Very serene environment for rejuvenation away from the busy street life

Staff was nice and helpful. Room was clean. We were able to check in early which was really helpful. AC in room worked well although there was no AC in hallway.

The pool had algae growing at the water line and in corners. The fridge in my room did not work. The carpet in my room was soaked in the corner by the AC.

We were very impressed with the hotel. Staff (including manager) were incredibly helpful and friendly. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. AC worked fairly well too, which was appreciated in the Kansas City heat. Our boys enjoyed the indoor pool. No major thrills but plenty big. We also used the laundry services which were nice - major plus you could buy quarters from the front desk to use for laundry. I would absolutely stay here again.

Fitness room was adequate. The indoor pool was small but looked clean. The halls and elevator were also clean. There was plenty of available parking.

Hotel was very nice, bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly, hotel was close to good restaurants .

We had a great stay at the Sonesta Hotel in South KC, Missouri. They treated my wife and me right from the moment we arrived. The hotel was clean, the staff was on point, and the entire experience was smooth from check‑in to checkout. We run a DJ & Balloon Entertainment business, and the team went above and beyond by allowing us to blow up and store our balloons for a gig we had during our trip. That level of accommodation meant a lot and made our workday so much easier. Our room was fresh, the bed was comfortable, and the overall vibe was welcoming — exactly what you want when you’re back home in KCMO. If you’re coming through my hometown, this spot gets a solid A+ from me.

I booked a room along with my parents. We each called to ensure that our rooms were near each other, only for them to disregard the request - saying it was changed as people started checking in and they overlooked the note. I was not happy and did snap for a moment (it was a long travel day, in my defense) and the overnight person at the desk decided to comp breakfast for myself, my parents (apparently it typically costs $13-14). He proudly informs us that they have a chef and lists some things they typically have. The next morning, my mom talks to the morning desk person who questions why we received a comp, saying “oh, they don’t normally do that.” My dad walks over and starts getting a plate while my mom finished talking and as I arrived downstairs. My dad sits, my mom and I go to grab a plate and the lady walks over to my dad to inform him that he has to pay. He looks at his plate, then she realizes he’s with us and she apologizes for her confusion and walks away. The food, was absolutely ridiculous. We were SHOCKED that they actually charged for stale bread, disgusting OJ and the “chef” was heating things up in a microwave. The following morning we went to a local restaurant and paid the same price for 3x as much FRESH food. In the room - the chair had a HUGE DARK stain. And the second morning, I found a huge spider in my bathroom. The pool was also incredibly unpleasant- humid and loud. I would not book again.
