Extended Stay America Select Suites - Kansas City - South - I-49

We were afraid of been robbed inside the place so we left and loose the reservation and had to pay a second hotel. Don’t go to this hotel ever

I chose to stay at this hotel because of the positive reviews and photos online, which made the property appear clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Unfortunately, my experience was the complete opposite. During my 13-day stay, the microwave in my room did not work. I reported it to management multiple times, but it was never fixed or replaced. Only half of the cooktop functioned properly, making it difficult to prepare meals. The toilet was cracked, raising concerns about both cleanliness and safety. The overall condition of the room was unacceptable. It was dirty upon arrival, there was visible drywall damage, and the bathroom exhaust fan was covered in dust and grime. Most concerning, I found what appeared to be mouse droppings inside one of the dresser drawers, which made me question the hotel’s cleanliness standards and pest control practices. To add to the frustration, my room key stopped working on three separate occasions and had to be reactivated each time, resulting in repeated trips to the front desk. I understand that maintenance issues can happen, but what was most disappointing was the lack of action after these problems were repeatedly brought to management’s attention. Based on the reviews and photos, I expected a much better experience. Sadly, this stay fell far below those expectations, and I cannot recommend this property unless significant improvements are made.

It smelled liked something or someone was decaying...Awful smell...my husband woke up with bed bug bites on him

Booked and paid online then got there with a sign on the door saying fully it was also trash and disgusting

overpriced by a large margin for the quality of the room. bathroom was missing trim on mirror. the body wash, shampoo, and conditioner in the shower was not secured in a way to prevent other guests from adding their own "ingredients" and the shampoo was not filled up. the shower tube had damage to it. the headboard had alot of dust and junk on it. $170+ to sleep here was a rip.

By far the worst hotel I’ve ever seen. Cockroaches. Dirty. Not a good staff. I left the first day

There were cockroaches in my room everywhere and the space smelled really bad.

If you saw room 430 with the door broken, stive without burners ashes all over the place, management should fire everyone that works there. I have the pictures to prove what I just posted. STAY AWAY from this dump.

Left after one night. Staff at the front was nice, but the effort put into making the rooms comfortable was nonexistent. I was put on the first floor and immediately found my window was unlocked and there was a large crack going down the glass. Random cars of smokers were pulling up in the parking lot behind my room all night which made me feel unsafe given the condition of the room and window. Whole building smelled of cigarettes. Bugs. No towel for shower. Sheets seemed clean, but everything else in the room did not.
