Best Western Frimurarhotellet is located at the heart of Kalmar, and a 2-minute walk from the train station. The hotel is in a listed building from early 1800, which gives it a nice historic atmosphere and there is a nice restaurant and bar at the hotel, unless you want to explore something else in town which all is moments away. The rooms are period featured and basic but nice and big with high ceilings. Breakfast is great and there is a partnership with the local gym for exercise. If you want to explore Öland, then buses run from the station and they take you there in 20 minutes. A nice local hotel.

A nice hotel but nothing exceptional. The restaurant is okay if you're hungry and just want to eat but not a place to enjoy a meal. The bar isn't a bar, they just have bottles in a fridge with ”drinks”, don't take the mojito, it doesn't taste like a mojito. The staff is friendly and the rooms are nice but the toilet smells like it hasn't been flushed in a while.

Nettes Hotel, sehr gutes P-L-Verhältnis. Viele jüngere Menschen. Liegt sehr zentral und verkehrsgünstig, Parkn ist ein bisschen blöd, klappt aber auch, Zimmer zur Durchgangsstraße war etwas laut, auch wenn morgens der Liefer-LKW fürs Restaurant kommt ist es je nach Zimmer-Lage etwas laut. Aber das passt schon.

Great located in Kalmar centre, with pedestrian street and many restaurants within walking distance. Good and large breakfast buffet, and very helpful and service oriented staff at the reception. There were no available parking in the hotel garage, but easy to find public parking lots very close to the hotel, and at resonable price - in fact cheaper than the hotel garage.

Wir wurden bei unserer Ankunft ohne Reservierung sehr freundlich empfangen und nach Nachfragen eines Zimmers ohne Klimaanlage durften wir dieses besichtigen. Das Zimmer hatte zwar einen Teppich aber es war alles sauber und das Bad war frisch renoviert. Alles ist vorhanden und schön sogar ein Bügeleisen und ein Bügelbrett. Wir haben erfahren dass im Zimmer Preis neben dem Frühstück und eine Jause (Fika) auch das Abendessen inkludiert ist. Die Jause und das Abendessen haben wir nicht in Anspruch genommen es sah aber alles sehr ansprechend aus. Das Frühstück hatte eine grosse Auswahl zu bieten! Top Lage freundliches Personal und parken vor dem Hotel!

A lovely little hotel. The rooms are basic but clean and perfect for us as we didn't want to spend all day in the hotel. Location was fantastic, it's a 10 Min walk (max) to the castle. Everything else is within 5 mins. Rooms - basic, we had a double room which was two single beds, pushed together. The beds were really comfortable. Little tip request a room near the back of the hotel, the morning deliveries and bin collection can be a little loud. The bathroom was very small, but had everything we needed. The shower was brilliant nice and hot and very powerful. Fresh towels were provided daily. The cleaning staff were great, they were alway happy to help. The room also had a hair dryer and desk. The sauna which is located near room 115 is brill, it's opened 3pm - 10pm. It's a decent size and very clean. There is also a jacuzzi however it was out of order during our visit. There is also a little sun terrace off the sauna and jacuzzi which is lovely for relaxing and people watching. The breakfast was fantastic, a really good buffet, much better than the ones UK chain hotels have. They also have a while range for vegan's, lactose intolerance, wheat intolerance etc there is something for everyone. The staff were amazing, they were all so friendly and happy to help. Jeanette in particular is fantastic, nothing was to much trouble. Jeanette helped us book taxis, sort rooms and anything else we needed. She is a superstar! Thank you Jeanette! Overall a basic but brilliant hotel that provides a great base to explore Kalmar!

We slept well in comfortable beds and the overall cleanness was ok. Prepare for people walking by to have a peek if you are living on the ground floor. We liked the ambiance of the hotel and had a late night drink in the lobby. We parked our car around the corner which worked fine. Staff was very lovely and helpful. The hotel needs some renovations - our bathroom was sprung from the 80’s, the TV had no international chains or services, the wifi was weak and the hotel doesn’t use key cards. However, the courtyard was very cute and the breakfast superb and we were very happy with our stay.

Sehr zu empfehlen, kostengünstig zu bleiben, die Umgebung ist sehr gut. Schöne Umgebung, gute geografische Lage, bequemer Transport, komfortable und sanitäre Räume, Servicepersonal ist sehr begeistert, Einrichtungen sind sehr menschlich, Hochgeschwindigkeitsnetzsignal ist gut, die Aussicht aus dem Fenster ist gut. Das Design des kleinen Pendels des Raumes ist ebenfalls sehr charakteristisch.
