What a find! This place offers even more than one may expect. Perfect location, ocean views, thoughtful decor details, amazing restaurant (Bliss), excellent service and so much more. Posada Ayana is family run and you can tell by the depth of thought put into each detail. In addition, the hotel collaborates with artists and artisans, which adds another soulful touch to the place. Absolutely recommended!

As a lifetime hotelier, I can honestly say what the Koffler family has created at Posada Ayanna is truly exemplary hospitality. The word "hotel" is really a misnomer here as the experience is more like staying in the luxurious home of a family friend. While Robert and Edda laid the foundation with a beautifully designed property, it is really Felice that is the glue to the operation. What separates Posada Ayana from most boutique hotels is this property truly embraces experiential hospitality. The service levels are second to none and the staff is well versed in all aspects of the property, the community and the overall location. Service is what distinguishes this property. This was our second trip to both Pousada Ayana and Jose Ignacio but definitely not our last! From the moment you walk through the big wooden front door of the "hotel," you are overwhelmed with a sense of total chill. A seamless arrival process finds you in your beautifully designed room - Edda is an interior designer and her work flourishes in every corner of the property. We had a deluxe ocean room - the one right above the lobby with a view overlooking the pool, the lovely Casa Neptuna and Mansa Beach. The bath is also a signature element to the experience - with large double vanity sink, separate toilet and beautiful shower with an open space to the sky. The property opened their signature restaurant Bliss this season and it perfectly reflects the efforts of this wonderful family team. Robert tried for five years to purchase this adjacent property and finally was successful - the restaurant perfectly blends into the property as if all was developed at one time. The restaurant design is also the beneficiary of Edda's talents as the space exudes warmth and comfort. But once again it is Felice who brings the operation to the next level with the staff - all extremely gifted in service and especially considering this is a highly seasonal market so difficult to get consistent service out of part-time employees - certainly not the case here! The hotel's complimentary breakfast is now mostly enjoyed in the restaurant's outdoor deck - as with everything at this property, the breakfast quality and service delivery are exceptional. The medialunas are to die for!! The hotel's glorious blue marble infinity edge pool is the property's central core - this is where guests enjoy the Jose Ignacio sun and the resulting sunsets. Service is also exemplarily here with water delivered within seconds of seating - Bliss also offers a limited pool menu for during the day. We enjoyed coming back to the pool after a day at the beach to relax and then enjoy the sunset. Finally, the hotel of course does everything to make the stay more enjoyable - there are complimentary bikes available to stroll around town or they have towels, beach chairs and umbrellas all for guest use at the beach. Roger + team lead an amazing hotel with great service. It really feels like you are at somoenes estate and they are family and waiting on you. Look forward to coming back soon! We looked at a few of the Vik properties but chose this and could not be happier with the choice.

Posada Ayana felt like a home far away from home. You are surrounded by art and beauty. The owners work with local artisans and artist giving the place an extremely cool and stylish vibe. The attention to detail is incredible and we were received with warmth and professionalism. The food was delicious and the cocktail guy made the best cocktails in South America. The rooms were really big and the interior design very nice. The bed and pillows give that last push into a deep sleep after a salty sunny day on the beach. The green marble swimming pool with view on the sea is so beautiful and on top of all, aJames Turrell sky space which can be enjoyed in the early morning or afternoon at sunset. We will be back very soon

This was one of our favourite hotels in Uruguay. You really felt at home in the elegant and welcoming space. The staff were fantastic, the hotel is managed very very well. The rooms and public spaces were very clean and well thought out. There is French press coffee in your room, and the breakfast is delicious and extensive. Do have some medialunas (little croissants), with your coffee. You are close to the swimmable beach, bikes available to zip into town for an icecream or go watch the fisherman come in on their kayaks loaded with fish a few streets down. A very enjoyable experience and we will be back again. The Sky Space art installation is an incredible experience. It happens at sunset, free to hotel guests, 40 minutes long, do lie on your back with a sheepskin and take it all in.

My wife and I are sitting in the Punta de Este airport discussing our stay in Uruguay at the marvelous Posada Ayana. Words are hard to find to accurately describe what a special place Robert and his family have created. From the moment we arrived and met his daughter, Felicitas, we felt immediately at home amongst all of the staff who so effortlessly take care of you throughout your stay. Your day starts with a fantastic breakfast of fresh fruit, delicious croissants which you must dip in dulce de leche and a hot item. Omelette etc. They also have specialty coffee drinks included. You sit and enjoy your morning with gorgeous views of both their infinity pool and the ocean. You can explore all of the wonderful restaurants, beaches and art of Jose Ignacio by foot or use one of the provided bikes. They also have a basic fitness area, beach chairs and that incredible pool mentioned. Do not hesitate to book a stay at Posada Ayana. We’ve been gone only a couple hours and already are dreaming of our next stay. And don’t forgot to experience the Sky Space - a truly fascinating art installation onsite.

Hospitality and attention to detail at this level is increasingly rare. Posada Ayana sets a new standard for what a luxury travel experience should feel, taste, smell, sound, and look like. If you're heading to Jose Ignacio, there simply is no better option.
