I stayed there for 6 days because I had booked in advance and it was NOT stress-free. The place itself is airy and spacious, but the staff’s behavior leaves much to be desired. If you owe them even as little as Rs. 50 on your canteen bill, they might interrupt your conversations with other guests to demand it—despite your willingness to pay in advance. They also give you accusatory looks over the smallest requests, such as asking for a cup from their kitchen. Although they enforce a no-slippers policy everywhere, the floors are so sticky and unclean that walking barefoot is quite unpleasant. I especially disliked the “manager,” Sid, who always seems to be prying and displays a rather large ego. He takes up space in the main common area and forces long, pointless conversations on guests. One afternoon, when I sat down to work on my laptop, he asked about my occupation. I politely requested we talk later, as I was starting my workday. He became visibly upset, fell silent, and left the room after a few minutes. I also saw another guest trying to mention how noisy the upstairs area gets, but Sid immediately changed the subject, refusing to acknowledge the complaint. Ritik, while helpful and diligent, was also prone to giving accusatory looks—even when he just needed access to the dorm for cleaning. Every time he approached me, I worried he might say something reproachful or bringing a 'sad' news such as the pending canteen bill 😅 which was not very often, and yet their advance payment QR codes don't work so I could avoid it. On my last morning, I had to catch an early train to Chandigarh and went to the front desk because my Uber was delayed. The staff member there brusquely told me to wait for an auto outside on the road, offering no further assistance. When I tried to return my locker key to retrieve my Rs. 100 deposit, the same staff member claimed he couldn’t find the spare key he had given me earlier. This happened just as I was rushing to catch my train. He started arguing it wasn’t about the money, but failed to acknowledge his own oversight in not mentioning the missing key a day before. It was so unprofessional that I simply left to avoid missing my train. Thankfully, my taxi arrived on time, and I reached the station with only minutes to spare. Ironically, as I was hauling my suitcase, rucksack, two shoulder bags, and a large carry bag out to the taxi, the reception clerk ran after me—not to help with my luggage, but to ask for a rating.
