Someone entered my room, without knocking, nothing was done about it. I was in the hotel room when someone opened the door and entered my room, they did not knock or announce themself beforehand. They quickly closed the door and it sounded like they began to run away. I checked the hallway and there was a man standing in the hallway, but out of concern for my safety, I did not ask him, and closed and locked the door. The hotel phone was not working. I used my personal phone to call the front desk. The woman mentioned that it was most likely maintenance. I asked why they didn't knock or announce themself and she acknowledged that they should have. She told me she would look into it, and text me with an update. I never received an update. After exactly an hour I called the front desk again. The woman mentioned she was unable to leave the front desk to find a maintenance worker to ask what had happened. I was told again that she will get back to me with an update. I was never contacted for the rest of my stay. I was very understanding on both phone calls and did not make a scene of the situation. This makes me believe that the calm manner in which I responded with, is why the situation was not taken seriously. A guest should not have to express their concerns in an angry/frustrated manner in order to be taken seriously. I am still understanding of the fact accidents happen, or that staff was not available to leave the desk to personally investigate the situation, but so many thing should have been done differently. Why did I not receive a call apologizing for the delay on an update? More importantly, why did I never receive a call with an update at all? Nothing was done to fix this situation. Most importantly, nothing was done to ensure the safety of a guest at this hotel, which is the most concerning part. I am extremely disappointed in the way that this situation was handled. This is very telling of what the priorities are for the management of this hotel.
