This special location upriver from the village and bridge gives the pleasure of clean water for swimming in the deliciously reviving Rio Dulce.
A nicely located diving platform leads to the floating sun deck thoughtfully furnished with comfortable loungers providing the ideal place to watch river traffic going by.
Fiber optic wifi throughout. Free vehicle parking and pickup at parking lot or municipal dock. Use of our kayaks, water refills no extra charge. Library, homemade food, dog to pet.

This special location upriver from the village and bridge gives the pleasure of clean water for swimming in the deliciously reviving Rio Dulce.

Tolle Location, mit Herz hergerichtete Zimmer in kleinen Häuschen, sehr zuvorkommende Menschen und direkt am/auf dem Rio Dulce!! Ebenfalls kann man einen kurzen Spaziergang in den Mangrovenwald machen, der gleich nebenan ist. Umgeben von Wasser und Wald fühlen sich Naturmenschen hier sehr wohl.

The facility was basic but had everything that you need. The staff did everything they could to ensure your needs and wants were met. There is also a lovely walk to town through a boardwalk over a small stream and then a beautiful farm. The food was quite good.

Fantastic place to stay to start a trip in the Rio Dulce/Livingston! Top notch staff- they couldn’t be more helpful, just a really lovely environment to be. We ended up staying longer because it was such a beautiful, thoughtful place to be. At the time, Angela was there and she really is such an addition to their team. Great, clean rooms, really special massive porch all along the water. Coffee ready early in the morning which is amazing for early risers like us! Easy access from the entrance of Rio Dulce- they will pick you up at no extra charge from where you leave your car and it’s a 2 minute boat ride over. Lovely pets as well.

Everything at Tortugal was exceptional from the time of booking to prearrival to arrival. From the time you are picked up at the boat dock in Rio Dolce and brought to Tortugal, you are treated like family and welcomed with open arms. It was such a needed experience after our horrible experience at the Tikal Jungle Lodge. Tortugal is a little slice of paradise with breathtaking views, healing energy, laughter surrounding the place, walking paths throughout, and phenomenal food. If you want to do day trips (highly recommend the Livingston trip), everything can be organized for you, as well as your shuttle to your next destination (we went onto Antigua afterward). Angela and Leo are super stars. I'm grateful for the love and wisdom Angela shared- thank you Angela, Leo, and Tortugal for an amazing few days.

I have stayed at Tortugal several times years back. I brought friends there this visit who were new to the area. In Two days and three nights we had a great time at this wonderfully located place with so much to make a visit great. We swam off the dock, kayaked up a nearby canal, heated and cooled at Finca Paraiso water fall/hot springs, walked through Fronteras. We got picked up and returned by Casa Perico - for lunch and a look about. All this was orchestrated by Angela, the current manager, who i hope would be there forever. She "gets" Tortugal. I felt Daphne, the creator's, artistic presence in the structures, walkways, open air lounging spots we enjoyed. The food was fresh and good. Only difficulty was, to me, the oversized portions at dinner. I love Tortugal and Rio Dulce.

I had a great time at Tortugal! I was picked up from the dock at the same time as the groceries! My room was cosy and charming. The bed was comfy, the water was hot and I had a ‘side sea view’ of the river. The best things about the hotel were: the inimitable Angela - an infinite source of knowledge and dry humour; the amazing food; the salty sea dogs (who congregated at the bar at dusk to regale people with yachting stories over the Cuba libres) and two actual dogs (who seemed to have as much fun as the guests!) A great choice for a stay in Rio Dulce!

I don’t know where to start from. Angela is AMAZING!! She sits down and gives you a breakdown of all the surroundings the minute you arrive. The hospitality in this hotel is beyond anyones expectations. The FOOD!!! OMG THE FOOD!!! Beyond amazing. I don’t know what the chef from the place cooks with but it has to be a god giving gift! Do yourself a favor, PLEASE COME AND VISIT THEM! I’m in Love and I will be here again 100% without a doubt! We love you Tortugal ＜3

A MUST STAY! Angela, Lilian, Leo and Rudy set the bar extremely high with their hospitality! Here you’ll find comfort, cleanliness, delicious food, and you’ll be treated like family with the friendliest service there is to offer. Upon arrival, you’re greeted by their two friendly, furry friends, Pablo and Garcia. The rooms were comfortable, and eccentric in such a way that rendered us speechless. We loved Tortugal so much, we stopped by for lunch a few days after we had checked out. We will stay here again, and we will refer this resort to our friends and family! Angela, Lilian, Leo, Rudy, Pablo and Garcia, thank you so much for making our stay amazing! We’ll see you soon!

Bel hôtel mais isolé car accessible par bateau uniquement, on s'y ennuie vite les jours sans excursions... Accueil agréable, bon restaurant, cadre sympa mais manque de confort pour s'installer en extérieur en dehors du restaurant, sièges sans coussins et mouillés par la pluie. Vastes chambres mais sans fenêtre, uniquement des moustiquaires, un peu frais par rapport à la météo pas top !
