Situated about a mile from Bowmore it is literally in the middle of nowhere with open 360 beautiful views on clear days you can see both Northern and Southern Ireland and Jura from the various windows. It is a standalone B&B, Jimmy, Caroline and son Archie live next door. You have the use of the house there is a comfy sitting room and nice kitchen dining area used for breakfast cooked fresh by a combination Jimmy, Caroline or Archie and are an excellent spread. Fresh fruit cereal yogurt to start with followed by a hearty full breakfast cooked with your choice of options. With toast and whiskey(what else) marmalade which is very good. The rooms are all spacious with on suites and showers one has a bath as well (snuck a peek before the others arrived). Everything is very clean, The only thing to be aware of for allergy sufferers some of the pillows appear to be down Filled. We didnt get our rooms done or fresh towels but to be honest wasnt an issue, I am sure if we had asked it would have been done as our hosts go out of their way to make an enjoyable trip. Jimmy is a character and chats and is happy to impart his love for the local area and knowledge and also runs a taxi service which is quite handy and we used him a few tikes to get into and back from Bowmore when we couldn't be bothered to walk. But like everything else on the island the pace is steady, laidback and peacefully and works on Jimmy time. But great place great service run by a really nice family.. See you next year Jimmy. Just to show the extra mile they will go, we arrived at the time with a couple who had flown in from Vancouver, they tried to find somewhere to eat but most places stop serving at 8pm. So Caroline drove into Bowmore to get them fish and chips so they got food. Nice touch.
