After climbing the scafell pike, we went straight to this hotel. The staffs were really kind especially to the old man. You can really see the passion in his work . The hotel was amazing because it’s clean and well maintained. They also have a restaurant so you don’t have to go outside to look for a food which is really inconvenient idea for those who are tired from climbing. I guess we tried to book for an uber eats, deliveroo etc but they don’t have it in that area. The food was great and they have a free breakfast as well.

Wir sind kürzlich von einem zwei-Nacht-Stadt im vollkommen fabulösen 1692 Wasdale zurückgekehrt. Alles über unseren Aufenthalt war einfach perfekt in jeder Hinsicht. Das informative Empfangswohnung bei der Ankunft, unser wunderschönes, sauberes Zimmer (Fells) mit einem erstaunlichen komfortablen Bett, unsere schmackvollen Frühstücksfüllung, die atemberaubenden Blicke, die Lage, Die unglaublich harte Arbeiter und das Haus gemacht Kuchen jeden Nachmittag war die Eis auf dem Kuchen! (Entschuldigen Sie die Pun!) Ich kann nicht einen einzigen negativ zu sagen über eine so gut geführte, schöne Einrichtung in einem erstaunlichen Teil der Welt. Besonders danke an Faith, Lauren, Hayley und Juliette. Sie waren alle so hilfreich und freundlich. Wir werden in Zukunft sicher zurückkehren!

Nur 2 Nächte hier mit meiner Schwester verbrachte, um unsere Vorfahren in der Gegend zu verfolgen. Unsere erste Nacht war die erste Nacht, die das Hotel für 2 Monate geöffnet war. Wir waren absolut erstaunt mit unserem Zimmer, Zimmer 28, es war riesig mit schönen Blicken auf die wunderschönen Gärten und sehr komfortable Betten. Das Personal, vor allem Rachael und Jackie, kann nicht genug für Sie tun und Sie wie Familie fühlen. Die Leute sagen, das Hotel ist datiert und es könnte sein, aber Sie werden so willkommen fühlen, die etwas gibt, wenn das Papier braucht Ersatz. Es ist ein schönes Landhaus mit Geschichte kann man sich über das Gebäude fühlen. Wenn Sie modern möchten, bleiben Sie in einem Travelodge, aber es wird keine Geschichte und nur ein Travelodge Bett, das ich vorher erlitten habe. Danke für das ganze Personal dort, dass uns so willkommen fühlen.

Tricky to review this place as you get what you pay for, and it was 'ok' but given the reviews on here I was expecting a lot better. Personally I wouldn't stay again but have gone with 3/5 to try to be fair. The rooms are above a noisy pub and when I stayed looked like they were having roof problems as there was tarpaulin and buckets all over the roof outside the window. Thr room itself was spacious but a real paradox - in some ways very nicely decorated and maintained but in others pretty tatty/poorly thought through. For example, one bed was across the front of the wardrobe making it unuseable. The kettle had no socket anywhere near it to enable it to be used, and one of the lamps appeared to be shorting out, flashing on and off. The bathroom was similarly odd, with decent quality material but a tap that refused to get warm and a shower tray that moved when standing on it, feeling like it was about to give way. There was also various noises (fans running?) periodically throughout the night that were enough to keep waking me, and give some pretty poor nights sleep. Although the bed was advertised as Super King, it was actually 2 singles pushed together, which is a pet hate as it it both uncomfrotable and significantly shorter than a King/Super King. No toiletries were provided in the room despite being included in the listing and was told they had none when asking about this. I stayed two nights and there was no servicing of the room either.

Ich blieb, um den CTC über das Vereinigte Königreich zu Fuß zu gehen. Es war direkt neben dem Bahnhof, so konnte ich den Zug durch das Fenster sehen, was sehr romantisch war. Obwohl der Klang des Zuges durch ein wenig laut ist. Das Zimmer war so komfortabel!

On this visit I used one of the camping pods in the grounds of YHA Holly How, I not only found them to be very comfortable but very spacious for my needs. With full access to the facilities within the hostel as well it made for a very enjoyable visit. If you want somewhere to stay within the Coniston area that will give you a good base for your visit without breaking the bank this is it.
