Our beautiful home in Olivebridge combines the coziness of a cabin in the woods with the roominess and modern amenities of a large family home. A big house with modern amenities that’s as cozy as a cabin in the woods! It’s a perfect base for exploring the Catskills and Hudson Valley, minutes from Ashokan reservoir, or a short drive to Woodstock, Kingston, and scenic nearby towns. Our 3-BR, 2-bath house is set back from the road, surrounded by nature with privacy in every direction. Huge living area with projector, well-equipped kitchen, a large yoga/WFH space, plus acres of outdoor space with a hammock and fire pit, BBQ, and large deck.Enjoy full privacy with no neighbors in sight. The house is on almost 7 acres of land full of trees. The bedrooms are spacious with queen beds in every room, the master bedroom being especially large. Every room has large windows with forest views all around, with blackout curtains for the early morning sleep-ins.The main floor has a huge open living space with soaring high ceilings and exposed beams: there's a kitchen area with a brand new fridge and marble topped island, a dining area with a large rustic table and modern chairs that comfortably seats 8, a cozy fire place and music area, and an area with a large leather couch to relax, hang, and watch movies via the projector.The lower floor showcases a large open space with a big table and chairs for playing games or working from home, a reading corner, plus a large floor space for yoga, etc. The large bath downstairs has a separate bathtub and a tiled open shower area with forest views.Outside there is a large BBQ grill on the deck, as well as a double hammock and a fire-pit, plus there are a couple of cornhole boards available for extra outdoor fun!IMPORTANT FOR WINTER MONTHS: Four-wheel drive needed!One of the best parts of this property is that its secluded atop a tall ridge. About this spaceThe Sanctuary Overlook Cabin has everything you need for a peaceful stay in the Catskills. The cabin is situated on 7 private acres, w/ access to a magical private stream & adjacent to 1000s of acres of trails leading to beautiful waterfalls. The porch is the perfect place to watch nature in the field below or fruit orchard. A great escape to spend time w/ friends & family .... and is across the road from the Frederick Goat Sanctuary, where you can spend time with their herd of rescued goats!The spaceWhen you drive onto the property you will notice a fruit orchard in front of you and the house is on your left. There are motion lights if you come in at night to help guide you to the entrance of the house. There is a covered porch to enjoy, as well as a patio that overlooks a front yard lush with flora and fauna. You are guaranteed to see a variety of wildlife such as deer, rabbits, chipmunks, hawks, eagles, owls, woodpeckers and the occasional bear. Don't get me started on the birds! It is a peaceful place surrounded by beauty.Upon entering the house, you are welcomed by a cozy and charming living room with exceptionally high ceilings. There is a wood burning stove for winter nights and it is well lit by natural light. On this floor in the back of the house there are two bedrooms; one has a full sized bed and the second bedroom has a queen size canopy bed, large closet and is attached to the full bath.There is a fully serviced kitchen on the main floor, which is a wonderful space to gather. Your friends and family can sit around a central island that seats four for cooking together, chatting and sharing appetizers. There is also a large table where you can sit down for a meal and enjoy a view of the beautiful field below. Often, you will be greeted by deer in the early mornings and at dusk.The upstairs has a large and comfortable master suite with a queen sized bed, lovely views and a full bath. There is a bonus room in the loft area with twin beds and comfy reading/game spot that is perfect for kids. It also functions as a workspace, which is flooded with natural light and a view of the downstairs living space below. There is high speed internet and a desk if you need to check into work.The basement has been transformed into a game room with full sized ping pong table, air hockey table, darts, foosball and more for rainy days. There is also a playground just down the driveway that guests are free to use with younger kids. We also have sleds, KanJam, croquet, soccer balls, frisbees, games, puzzles, books - everything you need for both rainy and sunny days!If you are a fellow animal lover, the Cabin is part of the Frederick Goat Sanctuary. We have 29 (and counting) rescue goats (we'd love to tell you their stories - so please ask!) as well as chickens (also rescues). We would love to have you meet them, hang out, and give them treats if you'd like (treats are provided ;).Weather and schedule permitting, join the owners for an evening "Goat Happy Hour" where guests can BYOB and join us to relax in hammocks and chairs surrounded by goats to chat about your day and get recommendations for things to do in the area!If you'd like to join us for our more formal experiences such as "Hugs and Hike", the "Adventure Hiker" or "Art with Heart" reservations are required in advance, unless you are flexible and can join us the day of when there are open spots!If you wouldn't like to (it's OK - we get it. After three months of a complete renovation of the former Granit Hotel owner's house from the 1950's, we are finally open for rentals. The house has four bedrooms and three full bathrooms and one 1/2 bathroom. Two living rooms, dining room, huge kitchen, office with sofa bed and a ton of very private outdoor space including a saltwater pool. We built this house for families, groups, dogs, and kids, this is a house to have fun in. The house is 2 hrs from NYC via New Paltz off the 87 freeway.This house was built for the original owner of the Granite hotel that sits down the road. It is a big house with big views and total privacy. We have totally renovated the interior and exterior with new bathrooms, floors, windows and doors, pool deck, Fencing, kitchen upgrade, and the addition of a room that opens directly onto the pool deck. This house is very spacious with lots of spaces for people to be together or have private time. Also has a couple of workspaces with desks. We have high-speed internet so everyone can be online at the same time. The saltwater pool is 18 x 28 and 8 feet deep at the deep end, but with a 10 ft shallow area for young ones. The pool area is completely fenced in with child-safe locks. The access through the downstairs door or the stairs from the upstairs must be monitored by yourself to insure your child's safety. It is open from early May to about mid-October. Lots of inside and outside games for all ages. Huge fully equipped inside kitchen or cook on either a gas or charcoal Webber grill outside. This house has been built for living and having fun, so we have very few rules and simply say "if you break it, please let us know so we can discuss with you how to replace it" Dogs are very welcome at this house and the grounds are ideal from dogs to run around and have fun, we just ask you pick up after they have done to the toilet on the grass. The pool area is completely fenced in so you can let your dog roam free without worry they might run away.The house is fully stocked with sheets, extra blankets, towels, pool towels, a full kitchen, and pantry items. In the kitchen, we provide caffeinated coffee and a selection of teas and have basic pantry items like salt, pepper, herbs, ketchup, mustards, oils, flour, and so on. We also stock a selection of emergency items like stock, canned tomatoes, pasta, and so on, which we simply ask that if you use them, you replace them for the next guest. In the bathrooms, we have hand soap, body soap, Q-tips and cotton pads, extra toothbrushes, toothpaste, and razors. We do supply basic Shampoo and conditioner but we suggest Bringing the shampoo and conditioner of your choice. We do have blowdryers, an iron and ironing board, a washer (with washing liquid provided), and a dryer for your use.Additional amenities include a grill, fire pit, and picnic table with mountain views. Nearby hiking trails at Minnewaska State Park, Mohonk Mountain Preserve and Vernooy Kills are all less than 20 minutes away. The closest "real town" is Stoneridge about 10 minutes away that has a great supermarket and drug store. PRIVATE Entire house and property - 1852 Schoolhouse newly renovated in the Catskills / Hudson Valley only two hours from New York City. SPACIOUS, high ceilings. Nestled under a canopy of trees and peacefully tucked into the sophisticated hamlet of Stone Ridge. This Schoolhouse has been newly renovated with two bedrooms while maintaining its single classroom charm. Very centrally located for all outdoor activities and easy access to neighboring hamlets, villages and towns in Ulster County.Entering the house you step immediately into what was likely a schoolhouse cloakroom reworked into a small kitchen with ample surface space for cooking, a full-size stove, a vintage chain-pull ventilation damper, and radiant heated floors. Immediately thereafter you enter the living room which was the actual one room schoolhouse that had about 12 desks in 1907 and 17 by 1941 with the teachers desk being where the large mirror now hangs. The room is airy and spacious with high ceilings and original tall windows. Warm natural light arcs through the main room with the southwest afternoon sun. Relax by the gas heated fireplace in the main room. The fireplace can also be used in the warmer months with just the flame for ambiance.Opposite side of the room are the bedrooms where the northeast rising morning light is dimmed naturally by the trees for that extra bit of deep sleep. Both rooms have full open closets with dressers, king size Nectar and Sleep on Latex memory beds, and a desk / chair dedicated work space. One of the bedrooms directly has backdoor access, and the other bedroom includes the washer/dryer tucked perfectly behind folding doors you wouldn't even know they are there. The bathroom is modern with a glassed in shower and radiant heated floors for those especially cool nights, and a mirror with three lighting choices to help you put on your best face.In the backyard you will find a grill for bbqing, a Solo Stove for a fire pit and seating. In the near future this will become a more defined area with bluestone inset for a patio. There is another building that is the garage, shed, and the original two outhouses at the end of the yard.
