Aspen Cabin is surrounded by Schoodic and Black Mountains on a very private setting that allows you to think that you have this pond all to yourself! 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms will give your family plenty of space to relax inside or outside on the screened in porch after a day of hiking or visiting Acadia National Park. Outside you will find that we have a grill, great wooden swing, a fenced in area to let your dogs go for a run, 3 kayaks and a canoe. A great solo stove to sit around and have smores. If fishing is more your style we have plenty of that, with salmon and trout in Little Tunk. Maybe you would like to go for a swim, this pond is great for that and Big Tunk is just a short walk away! We have a generator all hooked up to immediately switch over if power is ever lost. Aspen Cabin is here to offer you the peace of getting away in the woods while still maintaining all of the comforts of home! We are known for being one of the last quiet gems- on a pristine lake in Maine, where you can listen to nature and truly relax. Guests have two full, bathrooms, a fresh and modern kitchen, and great dining room furniture! Our kitchen is outfitted with new appliances, beautiful dinnerware and cutlery. Our living area is spacious with a vaulted ceiling which opens on to a deck overlooking Tunk Lake. The cabin is at the end of a private road leading down to a small beach with a dock jutting onto the lake and a swim float. The cabin comes supplied with a canoe and two kayaks. There are many hiking trails nearby, up Schoodic Mountain and also Black Mountain, where you can climb to a pristine glacier pond, aptly named Wizard Pond. Winter Harbor is about 20 minutes away where there is a ferry to Bar Harbor, and a section of Acadia National Park, or you can make the 45-60 minute drive to Bar Harbor. The upstairs level has a master bedroom overlooking the main floor, a full bath, laundry, walk-in closet and office with exercise equipment.The main level features vaulted ceilings with a central, 2-sided fireplace, a gourmet kitchen, dining room, great room, a massive covered deck, a bedroom and bathroom.The lower level is a walk-out with 2 bedrooms, a game room, laundry and bathroom.The back yard gently slopes to the lake where a private fire pit, small stone beach and boat dock await. Take the kayaks out for a morning paddle and enjoy the best of Maine.The property has 2 kayaks for your use between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Always wear life jackets when using. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Host is not liable for any incident regarding kayak or dock.We also have darts, ping pong table, board games, books, fishing rods, tennis rackets and a set of golf clubs for you to use.If you want to rent a power boat, stand up paddleboards, canoes or additional kayaks, Downeast Boat rentals 207-460-6898 can deliver these to the property for your use. They are in very high demand. If you plan to rent we suggest making your reservations ASAP.Please do not launch power boats from the back yard. There is a public launch area at the southern end of the lake.Please keep all children under close eye when around the water.Internet is via high speed Starlink satellite internet. This is close to broadband quality and allows for video streaming, VOIP phone calls, etc.We have a property manager that lives next door.
