You will enjoy the mix of fresh water access with easy proximity to the salted coastal views along the Scenic Byway and the Acadia National Park. Located less than a half hour from the entrance of the Schoodic Penisula and the breathtaking Schoodic Point in the lesser traveled part of Acadia National Park. The outdoor opportunities are endless. Whether it be hiking, biking or 4-wheeling or snowmobiling, you will have access to many trails in the area. The home has a full private beach on quiet Flanders Pond (the size of a lake) with provided kayaks. You can swim or fish in the pond. Beach front includes a dock suitable for up to 20 foot boat (not provided). Boat rentals are available in the area. Flanders Pond offers good fresh water fishing and is great for ice fishing. Join the ice fishing tournament in February for a chance at prizes!The private, spacious front yard overlooks the water and features a hammock, swing and fire pit. Enjoy the sounds of the babbling brook or the loons calling on the pond as you relax on the deck or enjoy the Adirondack chairs closer to the water.There is plenty of parking space for your vehicle and trailer so you can bring your boat or ATV or snowmobile. Located on a dirt road (2 miles on dirt road) with easy access to the Downeast Sunrise Trail system for ATV’s. Boat rentals are available nearby.This is a year round rental. Come and visit during the off peak tourist season for a lower rental rate. The large pond freezes and makes for good ice fishing or skating in the winter. Fall is a beautiful time around the Lodge when the leaves are in full color. The house features beautiful rustic furnishings including a large hickory dining table that seats 10 with a view of the pond. The kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of dishes, cooking equipment, coffee maker, microwave, toaster, blender, etc. The large refrigerator features water and ice and the large gas stove/oven will cook for a crowd! Dishwasher is provided for your convenience. A gas grill is provided on the large deck. Family room with a pool table, couches and TV is located downstairs separate from the spacious upstairs living area which also has couches and TV. This three story lodge gives plenty of room to spread out. Want to have some private time? Enjoy the small reading alcove upstairs with a glider rocker. Bedding and towels are provided. There is a washer and dryer downstairs. Welcome to our family camp where the sun sets over Flanders Pond and eventually disappears behind Shoodic Mountain. Our pond has a sandy bottom pond, it spans over 550 acres so we like to call it a lake! This house features its own private beachfront with two kayaks included! Swim the crystal clear waters! We are about 45 mins to Bar Harbor and Acadia State Park. Winter Harbor/Shoodic Pennisula is about 15 mins away. Down East Sunrise Trail is right across the pond for hiking and snowmobiling.The layout is as follows, bottom floor has a one car garage which leads into a partially finished game room. There is a pull out couch in there that can serve as an extra bed if necessary. The laundry is down there as well. Second floor has the full bathroom, kitchen and living room as well as a walkout balcony. The top floor has the primary bedroom with balcony and the other bedroom has two adult size bunk beds as well as a twin. There is also a half bathroom in between both of the bedrooms.The house is fully equipped with baseboard heating for the winter months, running water from a deep well, and fully functional cesspool. The pond does freeze over during the winter. People ice fish the pond during the icey months. In the summer, you can catch brown trout, smallmouth bass, white perch and pickerel. Down East sunrise trail is right around the corner. There's a bunch of trails you can visit nearby as well. 10 mins away you can go to the shoodic beach and climb the shoodic mountain. In the summer you can take a boat ride to bar harbor from winter harbor and just avoid all the traffic getting out there. Winter harbor is like 15 mins away and is a part of Acadia national park. You can rent a bike there and cruise around the scenic roads.There's two kayaks and life vests for guests to use. The upstairs level has a master bedroom overlooking the main floor, a full bath, laundry, walk-in closet and office with exercise equipment.The main level features vaulted ceilings with a central, 2-sided fireplace, a gourmet kitchen, dining room, great room, a massive covered deck, a bedroom and bathroom.The lower level is a walk-out with 2 bedrooms, a game room, laundry and bathroom.The back yard gently slopes to the lake where a private fire pit, small stone beach and boat dock await. Take the kayaks out for a morning paddle and enjoy the best of Maine.The property has 2 kayaks for your use between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Always wear life jackets when using. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Host is not liable for any incident regarding kayak or dock.We also have darts, ping pong table, board games, books, fishing rods, tennis rackets and a set of golf clubs for you to use.If you want to rent a power boat, stand up paddleboards, canoes or additional kayaks, Downeast Boat rentals 207-460-6898 can deliver these to the property for your use. They are in very high demand. If you plan to rent we suggest making your reservations ASAP.Please do not launch power boats from the back yard. There is a public launch area at the southern end of the lake.Please keep all children under close eye when around the water.Internet is via high speed Starlink satellite internet. This is close to broadband quality and allows for video streaming, VOIP phone calls, etc.We have a property manager that lives next door.
