A cosy, friendly and secure Backpackers Hostel in the heart of the Sydney CBD, Big is the perfect spot for solo travellers. Big offers 24/7 on-site staff, a range of room types (dorms 18-40yrs only), (all with AC) and up-to-date security and sanitising practices. A few minutes’ walk from Central Station and light rail and within walking distance of Hyde Park, Chinatown, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Opera House, Botanical Gardens, Sea Life Aquarium and several of Sydney’s famous museums, we’re just a quick bus trip from some of Sydney’s beautiful beaches. Big is your base for exploring what Sydney has to offer.
We offer free all-day tea and coffee in our fully-equipped kitchen, with large commercial fridges and shelving for food and beverage storage, cooled filtered water, instant boiling water and food preparation space and utensils. Check-in is from 2PM, and check-out is by 10AM. Before and after check-in we’ll store your bags while you enjoy the comfortable common area and kitchen. The kitchen, common room and laundry are all open 24/7 for comfort and convenience. Air conditioning is provided throughout the building, in the common areas and in every room.
Unlimited free WiFi is available throughout the building, even on our famous rooftop, where you’ll find a perfect opportunity to socialise in the sun. If you’re worn out from your travel or just want a quiet day, relax on one of the many couches in our spacious common room and grab a book from the well-stocked bookcase.

"Ich glaube, das Housekeeping hat unser Zimmer überhaupt nicht sauber gemacht. Das Bett sah nicht schön und ordentlich aus, aber wir waren so müde, dass wir dieses Zimmer genommen haben. Wir wussten, dass das Zimmer nicht sauber gemacht worden war, weil die Haushälterin das Zimmer betreten hat, ohne zweimal anzuklopfen, und uns gefragt hat: „Wie war das Zimmer?“ Es liegt an uns, das Zimmer nicht zu wechseln, aber sie haben ihre Arbeit auch nicht gut gemacht. Das Personal in der Lobby ist großartig und hilfsbereit."
