Imperial Hotel

My sister and I visited the Imperial Hotel on a 5-day trip with Alfa travel. What a delightful hotel. It may only be a 3-star, but it gave a 5-star service. Our room had a Seaview, which was wonderful, and although we paid a little extra for this, it was well worth it. When we arrived, Daniel came onto the coach and introduced himself and the hotel. He also came on the coach when we left. A lovely touch, very nice indeed. Thank you, Daniel. When I went into the room, I was a little chilly. When I spoke to reception, James answered, and within 5 minutes, he brought an oil filled radiator . Much appreciated, James. Thank you. The room was clean, and the beds were very comfortable. Meal times were so well organised full credit to your waiters/waitresses. Everything ran so smoothly. A special thank you to Anca, our waitress. She was always so pleasant and even remembered what tea I liked in the morning. (lemon/ginger) Thank you, Anca. Compliments to your chefs, too. The meals were delicious . The selection menus were extremely good. Thank you. We also had fall incident whilst we were there, and the staff could not have handled it any better. Well done to all concerned. Just had a 4 night stay at the Imperial Superb on every level ..location is on the seafront .close to the beautiful harbour .high st . The Rooms are bathrooms spacious and spotless clean.... the foodhere was exeptional .we had dinner and breakfast and it was of a very high standard... all staff were absoutley fantastic helpfull .friendly and so welcoming .i would love to return and highly recomend this hotel.

First time staying at this hotel however we have stayed at 7 other Leisureplex hotels over the last 3 years . Stayed as part of an Alfa Travel Christmas break . The bedroom was a clean and tidy standard Leisureplex one that needed an update/ refurb the wallpaper on the ceiling was peeling off also in areas of the hallways . This is typical of most Leisureplex hotels we have stayed in . Tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom and a table fan and a bath mat if needed . There was a ledge outside the bedroom window that would benefit from being cleaned of the bird droppings and moss as not very pleasant to look at . The public rooms were clean and tidy . There is only one small lift for the whole of the hotel which has four floors . WiFi not the best , kept dropping in and out . The food was good as was the service in the dining room mainly from Ethan ( who was our main server ) but the staff all worked as a team . Generally staff friendly , pleasant and helpful . Tables not too close together as at other Leisureplex hotels . The entertainment was okay overall , different artist each evening , not really our cup of tea .Leisureplex hotels seem to all be stuck in the same groove with entertainment , singing the same songs from the 50s and 60s . I am in my early 60s so would have appreciated something a bit more up to date . Bingo every night . If it had been light nights /summer I think we would have probably spent the evenings at the Wetherspoons just down the road . Was a bit surprised that on the fancy dress night staff were included in the prize giving , reducing the chances of the guests winning ( we did not enter ) .The fancy dress which was a highlight of the stay i felt it was very rushed . No introductions as to who or what the entrants were and no formal way of deciding who had won eg level of applause . The front of the hotel faces the sea and Is a short stroll to the harbour , over the road from the Landmark theatre . Small general store close by . There is a pay and display car park opposite the hotel . Would not be adverse to staying here again as found it to be one of the better run Leisureplex hotels overall we have stayed in .
