Rockliffe Hall Hotel Golf & Spa

We had a fantastic 2 night break at the Rockcliffe. It’s just a quick hop from the M1, but could be miles away. It’s set in beautiful grounds, which a golf course, expensive spa and walks through the countryside. We were there to relax and enjoy the spa facilities and the food. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and the Orangery was a great setting for breakfast overlooking the golf course and gardens. The walled garden is worth a visit - you can help yourself to spare veg left out in trays. We ate in the Clubhouse, which does a decent bistro style meal and Terra the James Close Michelin Star restaurant. The spa was amazing, with access to the Sap a garden with hot tub and loungers, and the hydrotherapy pools and 4/5 different sauna and steam rooms. There was plenty of space for all and lots of different experiences. Our bedroom (suite) was roomy and well equipped. I will definitely return

Spend a night away and it was a perfect place to relax and enjoy a short getaway. Staff were all amazing Food was excellent and the grounds are perfectly manicured. Spa is the perfect spot to relax and the Spa Garden is a must while you’re there Thank you for the overall hospitality and experience

I went for Christmas afternoon tea in The Orangery at almost £60pp with my parents for a bougie little treat before Christmas. The setting was beautiful, the staff were lovely and the drinks were delicious. But the food? Well...the sandwiches were nice and they were adjusted to cover allergies we have. The cakes were yummy but I've had crackerbread with more moisture than those scones. They were overmixed, stale and no amount of double cream (no clotted cream here I'm afraid) could fix that dryness. The booking cost extra due to the choir who was to be signing carols while we ate, but that lasted maybe 5 minutes and while they were good they certainly weren't worth the £8 up charge to hear. If you don't care about what you're eating and simply going because you want to go for Afternoon Tea in a 5 star establishment then this is perfect for you. But if you'd rather spend your hard earned money on something that doesn't taste like it's been sat for three days before being served then I'd avoid here and find an alternative. Very disappointed.

I and my sister went here for a overnight spa day treat for our birthdays, Overall it was a great time, the hotel is beautiful, the staff were so attentive and polite and the room was beautiful, Our food was lovely too. I do however have a few complaints that I think could be improved on, 1. In the spa the foot pedicure machines were not working, no sign, but that's understandable, it happens. Minor. 2. No biscuits, No chocolates, or little gifty knicknacks left in our room which I find odd, I have been to less rated places who have done this. They did leave us a lovely card though. 3. We booked the infinity pool for half an hour, the room next to it was full of young women who were celebrating a hen do, which made us feel awkward, I felt like they could have arranged the time slots so we did not disturb their celebration and vice versa. 4. My biggest complaint, the breakfast in the orangery room, we had to check out by 11, My sister ordered a starter, which came out really quickly, we then ordered 2 full english breakfasts, after 35 minutes of waiting we were wondering what was going on so we asked a waitress if she could inquire, which she said she would, she came back telling us the staff were making it, We said thats fine, 35 plus minutes passed and we had to check out in 40 minutes, we asked a second member of staff what was going on and that we had seen 4 people served who had came in quite a long time after us, including a full english, he apologised and again went to check, explaining the chef was making it (a second time?) waited 10 or so minutes and it came, it was nice but we felt like we had to rush by the time we got it, overall, we waited an hour and half for a forgotten breakfast and had to inquire twice, which for a place of this rating is not acceptable, The orangery room was not that busy either, We also never got asked by staff if we would like refreshments while we were waiting and had to ask while inquiring about the wait. Disappointing experience at breakfast. However, working on those things alone, it was a really enjoyable stay and I would definitely come back.

A fantastic experienced at the club house. My partner and I are spa members and decided to dine at the clubhouse on a Sunday evening in November. We were served by Lewis and Tristan and the service was very professional and welcoming. We ordered sirloin steaks and they were divine! Such a gorgeous and smokey taste. It would seem the service and food quality has much improved at the clubhouse. The steak quality was very good and it was a very enjoyable evening. Thank you!

Lunch in the clubhouse. When we arrived we didn't acutely think that the restaurant was open and the tables are not set ( seems very strange in a restaurant ). After asking what time we would be able to get food we were told we are serving lunch now and shown to a table. Although the menu has a good choice it's the same menu we had last time we ate her around 7 months ago, we did expect it to of changed to more hearty winter offerings . We opted for the fish finger sandwich and clubhouse sandwich which were both very nice . The staff are so friendly and one lady Helen remembered us from our last visit ( I had been poorly and had come before to celebrate getting through some treatment. ) it was lovely that she remembered me as the must be a lot of people visit clubhouse
