The New Inn Motel

Visited October 2023: we were later arriving so our key was left with a note for us in the reception area. These rooms remind me of American motels which I love. The rooms are a good size and we were in a twin. They look like they’ve been refurbished or had new carpets though they have shoe trays so maybe they’re just well looked after. The bathroom was nice and clean and had soap and shower gel in the shower. There are tea (Yorkshire of course) and coffee (including decaf) facilities with 2 x packet of biscuits. There is wifi because the single is very patchy in the countryside. There was a nice big tv with Netflix too. The area is very quiet and at night we stood outside and you could see so many stars- the area doesn’t have much light pollution. There is an informative folder with information and tips and helpful stuff too. The only thing I’d say would be to have more than one bottle of water per room- there was two of us staying 2 nights. We met the owners as we were leaving and they were very friendly and had a cute puppy too. They leave you alone and let you get on with your stay. I would definitely stay here again. The price was great for what we got in comparison to staying in York city centre too! These rooms are not wheelchair accessible.

The village of Huby is just North of York, it’s a quiet place and just about the ideal location for anyone visiting York or the surrounding area. The New Inn is sited just behind the Cantonese restaurant on the Main Road, it’s well signposted and parking is available just outside the Motel. It is so quiet here it was just perfect for my visit. I can see it being suitable for visitors of all ages. The rooms are modern and really well thought out. WiFi is exceptional as the local phone signal for the whole village is not the best. Everything was provided for, with tea and coffee as well as a packet or two of biscuits on arrival. A large flat screen TV in the corner with Netflix, YouTube etc. as well. I can’t recommend staying here highly enough, I’ll certainly be visiting again.

Great room, very clean, modern and comfortable. Location is perfect for York City via park + ride. Or bus services run into York as well. Chinese restaurant at the end of the drive which we were very pleased with. Unfortunately no breakfast although we were told this when we booked. However the folder supplied in the room has some good info including local places to get a breakfast. I have no problem recommending this motel and would definitely stay again.

Great place to stay. Very clean and comfy. Good facilities within the room. Shower was really good and powerful. Wifi was also really good (the mobile phone signal in Huby is not the best) Very quiet too which made for a great nights sleep. . Great place to stay to explore York and surrounding areas. Will definitely be back!!!

A fair bit out of York but great for going into the moors. Clean, tidy thoughtful accommodation with a comfy bed, usb sockets, blackout curtains and a welcome bottle of water. They have clearly tried hard to anticipate guest needs. I would rather drive out a bit and have this, rather than a characterless chain hotel. A word of warning for motorcycles / motorbikes: There is a gravel drive and car park. I really struggled with my fully laden bike, turning and parking. Take a puck. (I didn't!). Nice to have it just outside the door though.

I have just completed a 5 week stay here for my work. What a wonderful place, great sized rooms with everything you need for a home from home. I will surely be looking to book in here if I work in York again. I would recommend the new inn but don’t want it to be booked up next time I want to come lol
