Almond Beach Resort at Jaguar Reef

We love Almond Beach Resort at Jaguar Reef. You want to enjoy the beach and food this is the place to visit. This has become our go to place. And captain Larry & Sippy (driver) make you feel at home. I love the addition of golf carts for the easy & safe ride into town. We'll be back, again & again.

We went for our 30th Anniversary. Always wanted to try Belize. The Staff made it so amazing. From reception to Captain Larry was the best always making sure we had everything. Richard from the Paddlehouse made sure our meals were top shelf. Jerry our bartender at the pool always took care of drinks no matter the request. Housekeeping checked on us every day to fulfill our comfort in our room. This resort made us feel like we were part of their lives. I would recommend this resort to all. Thank you all for your care.

The room & accommodation were fantastic and just right! The staff were very friendly, supportive, welcoming, approachable, and attentive. The friendly smile and service received from front desk member, Robin Lammey was probably the omen to the stay

Had a greg time with family and made some new friends! The staff is very helpful and cool. Captain Larry and Denton make you feel at home and protected, Bruno and Denis will make nice drinks and Suzie, Xhalene and Kira will make sure your room is in order and things are going as they should for you. I really appreciated all of their customer service … thanks guys!

We stayed in one of the sea view suites which is a little farther down from the main resort area. Room was quiet and clean with a great view, spacious, good shower. I’d say the service is okay but nothing amazing. We rented a golf cart to go into town and it broke down twice. We were not advised of all the little details about the cart (like how to engage the parking brake) and that was another call. Luckily we were able to get it started the first time because one specific guy who deals with all things golf cart didn’t call back for 45 minutes (by which time we’d broken down the second time). I was advised by the front desk that I had to talk to the activity team about removing that rental charge from my bill, but that team is never in their office - I looked for them multiple times. I asked again about it being removed from our bill on the final night and the front desk staff took care of it, so I’m not sure why they wanted us do that extra step instead of just doing it when I originally asked. So next time we went to town we just paid more for a taxi. You can rent bikes for free but it’s not a shaded pedal. Coffee in the morning breakfast has been lukewarm and I asked them to re-do it so it’s hot 2/3 of our days here. I really am not high maintenance but I am bummed by cold coffee. Our friends requested housekeeping at their room but it was never done, based on other reviews housekeeping is a bit of an issue here - we did get a housekeeping service when we requested so I was disappointed that our friends didn’t. So I guess it all adds up to slightly annoying to have so many opportunities to do a great job but then dropping the ball and having the guest have to ask. This resort is on a public beach (which I am all for) but be aware that multiple locals will approach you to sell stuff, even in you are on the front porch of your room or at the Dock Bar. I wasn’t expecting that but nobody is too pushy. Not really a negative, but something to be aware of. We went to Driftwood for pizza and to watch drumming, that was great. Dock bar was awesome to hang out at and watch tarpon at night, ceviche was good. We snorkeled around the bar and really enjoyed it, just watch out for the few fishing and excursion boats. Our friends borrowed kayaks one morning and saw a manatee. Pro tip: buy drinks and snacks in town to duck the high prices at the resort.

We stayed @ Almond Beach & had a fabulous time. Some of us went fishing and Captain Larry took great care by soaking our Conch Shells when we returned. He was ALWAYS happy to see us. The Chef prepared our catch of the day and dinner was AMAZING. Thank you & the Almond Beach bartenders for a GREAT time- Cheers Clifford, Jerry & Lucas !!!!! The wedding party from April 2024 will forever remember the great time at The Jaguar Reef/ Almond Beach & Colonial Reports. Wonderful place! We appreciate your kindness and fun spirits.

We had an amazing time at Almond Beach resort! We had the beachfront cottage and our friends stayed in the Colonial penthouse. We enjoyed our outdoor shower and the privacy, although they had a nice balcony and bathtub. Beautiful beach, pools, and how can I forget CAPTAIN LARRY! He is the best! You will get to know him very quickly and he makes great local recommendations.

Can't say enough about our stay at the Belize Collection in February of 2024. The entire staff were lovely. Our room was clean and a perfect size. The location is second to none and the Big Dock make such a fun spot to hang with the kiddos. Captain Larry has made a name for himself and rightly so. He is engaging, friendly and helpful. We hope to make it back to Jaguar Reef / Almond Beach soon as we had a fantastic family vacation.

We stayed for 5 nights and 6 glorious days! It was the staff at Almond Beach and the entire Jaguar Reef properties that made our stay amazing! Upon check in at Jaguar Reef (this is the check in area for all the collection of properties next to each other, like the Colonial, Almond Beach and others), we were so kindly greeted by Malcom, Vern, Modesty and the extremely gracious Gianni. These staff members made us feel like VIP’s and the entire resort was waiting for our arrival. After check in we got requested to sit in the spacious main dining room lounge area for a commentary welcome refreshing beverage (we did not elect the all inclusive), so this came as a surprise. We stayed in the Craboo room which was perfect for our family of 4 with our 2 adult children. It was actually two separate rooms with a large shared bath and an outdoor private jacuzzi tub under the trees on the 2nd floor (see in photos). The trip only got better. While working to set up excursions, Will and Greg were amazingly helpful!! They both would see us on the property and share additional pearls regarding our booked excursions for the days ahead, like getting us into an earlier snorkel trip because a family had cancelled or our Belize Collection shuttle being a private van just for us because another family had a change of plans. The snorkel trip with Captain Alex, first mates Nele and Alexander was outstanding! Alex was amazing captain in some very challenging seas on the 35 min ride to the snorkel location. On our Monkey River excursion, Cipriano was our Belize Collection shuttle driver. We basically spent the entire day with him! He was so accommodating! Again, we felt like VIP’s at this property. He dropped us off right at the boat and had the van cooled down and waiting for us as we debarked from the boat several hours later. It was amazing! We actually enjoyed the ride from the property and return with Cipriano more than the actual Monkey River boat tour! When we were at the resort relaxing, the service staff was extremely accommodating! At the dock bar upstairs, Brandon and Irwin made us feel so welcome. Jerry at the Almond Beach pool bar made our special requests seem less. Tim in the main dining room was also a welcome face to see!! Last but hardly not least!!! The famous Captain Larry!! Not sure if the visitors know, but Captain Larry won the Trip Advisors #1 Customer Service Award this past year for all of Belize!!! Yes right at this small resort property, Captain Larry brought home the TripAdvisor Gold!! We had to take a picture with him before we departed, see in photos in front of the resort. He truly made our trip and brought a smile to our faces every time we would cross paths on the property. He is the true beach captain of the Jaguar Reef collection and the resort is lucky to have him as a member of the staff!
