This is a shout out to Pascal on the front desk, this guy deserves a medal! We had a major problem with our arranged transport back to Paris & despite global roaming, neither of our phones worked. Pascal provided 200% support & assistance in resolving our issue, Then on a really busy Saturday night in Honfleur he secured us a booking at a delightful Italian restaurant close by where we had a lovely dinner, Merci Mille fois Pascal, vous êtes une étoile!

Les Maison de Lea is perfectly situated right in the centre of Honfleur next to Sainte Catherine's Church which is beautiful. From the very moment we arrived we felt welcomed at the hotel, honestly one of the warmest welcomes we have had in many years of staying in France. The very kind young lady who greeted us went out of her way to accommodate us. We had paid for parking which is a short distance from the hotel she explained how to access and took all our baggage to our room while we parked so we did not have to struggle back with it. The room itself (Chimene) was very spacious, quirky, charming and spotlessly clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept well without any disruptions or noise. Breakfast was a fantastic spread with every option you could desire, the usual French selections but other lovely touches like smoked salmon and freshly squeezed orange juice. We could not experience the restaurant (which is Michelin listed) because it was closed on the nights that we stayed but there are plenty of excellent restaurants within a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. In fact, the hotel booked all the restaurants we had selected in advance of our visit for us because Honfleur can be very busy and booking is advisable. I am surprised to see negative comments from others about staff as I can honestly say that every member of staff we encountered was friendly, helpful and respectful. We loved our stay, cannot wait to return and are recommending Maison De Lea to all our friends. I am only sorry that I did not get the name of the receptionist who booked us in on the afternoon Sunday 23rd October as throughout our stay she was wonderful and a real credit to the hotel. The hotel and staff are fantastic and you could not ask for a better position to stay in Honfleur. We will be back for sure!

Hinter dem Einfahrtstor verbirgt sich ein zauberhaftes Hotel-Anwesen. Mitten auf einem Landgut, außer Vogelstimmen ist nichts zu hören. Hier kann man nicht anders als entspannen :-) Die Lage ist ideal um Honfleur kennenzulernen (5 min mit dem Auto) oder Ausflüge in die Umgebung zu machen (Deuville, Cabourg etc.). Oder um einfach zu faulenzen und am (Indoor)Pool zu relaxen. Unser Zimmer ”Caravelle” war groß, hell, geräumig und mit liebevollen Details eingerichtet. Ein Highlight des Aufenthalts war das gemütliche Frühstück am entzückend gedeckten Tisch mit ”Oma-Häferl” und allem, was man braucht. So fängt der Tag gut an! Als Frühaufsteherin und Touristin mit vollem Tagesprogramm fand ich die Frühstückszeit (9.00 bis 10.30 Uhr) zwar ungewöhnlich spät, aber das ist das einzige kleine Minus, das ich finden konnte.

Der Spa mit Schwimmbad ist wegen Renovation aktuell (September 2021) geschlossen. Massagen können jedoch gebucht werden. Könnten solche Arbeiten nicht in den Winter verlegt werden? Dass der schöne Spa geschlossen ist, steht nicht sehr präsent - sondern in einem Nebensatz - auf der Homepage und auch nur ganz nebenbei im Bestätigungsmail unsere Reservation. Das haben wir glatt übersehen. Ob das Absicht ist ? Die hohen Preise bezahlt man trotzdem. Das ist höchst unfair. Wir hatten Glück mit dem Wetter. Ansonsten hätten wir das Schwimmbad noch mehr vermisst. Denn diese Ferienwoche hier haben wir ja gebucht wegen den ganzen Anlagen. Das Zimmer 12 Richtung Garten ist zwar super schick, aber dunkel. Etliches höchst unpraktisch, z.B. Beleuchtungssystem. Pluspunkte sind : - Caroline vom Empfang. Sehr sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wenn sie nicht wäre, hätte ich glatt noch weniger Sterne gegeben - Das gesamte Personal ist herzlich, freundlich und sehr aufmerksam - Geschmackvolle Einrichtungen, Dekorationen auf dem ganzen Areal in allen Räumen. Alles sehr sehr schön, gepflegt und edel. Auch der wunderschöne Garten - Die dazugehörigen Restaurants Boucane und Vieux Honfleur sehr zu empfehlen. Leckere Speisen. Tolle Weinkarte. Super Personal. - Frühstück mit allem was das Herz begehrt. Vorallem die frischen knusprigen, leckeren, glutenfreien Brötchen sind eine tägliche Freude und kamen ohne dass ich sie erwähnen musste immer ganz schnell an den Tisch - Sehr gepflegter Garten mit Blick auf die Seine - Bequeme Betten. Sauber alles innen und außen. Minus - Bellende Hunde im Hotel und im Bistrot Boucane heute Abend 4 Hunde (einer saß sogar auf einem Stuhl) - Zum Zentrum / Hafen zu Fuß 1,3 km - Kein Shuttleservice zum Zentrum von Honfleur - Spa geschlossen - Steile Aussentreppe zum Zimmer 12 - Ein kühles Glas Rosé konnte nicht bestellt werden, obwohl auf der Karte der Bar. Nur lauwarmer Rosé war parat Eigentlich hätte das Hotel alles für einen Traumurlaub. Aber dass es keine Preisreduktion gibt wenn der Spa geschlossen ist und dass dies nicht deutlich hervorgehoben wird, ist enttäuschend.
