The Grange at Oborne

We have had a truly wonderful few days staying at The Grange. The owners/managers were there and hands on and all the staff were kind, friendly and smiling. The bar and the public rooms and our bedroom were all of the highest standard. . The decor is delightfully quirky but giving such an excellent ambience and atmosphere. The dining arrangements for breakfast were so good and the dinner was of the highest quality. We would recommend The Grange unreservedly. The Easts

A lovely room with plenty of space and a very comfortable bed. The wet room was excellent and fully accessible and safe in the proper sense. A chair for the shower was provided. The doors were wide enough for a wheelchair. The door closers on the actual bedroom door and the vestibule beyond had strong springs due to being fire doors opening onto the main staircase. A wheelchair user would need help. There were two disabled parking bays near the entrance, as the main car park was up the lane at the other end of the building. Due to the sloping lane and the uneven surface of the car park, I needed my scooter to reach it. The two disabled bays could have been managed better in favour of guests who are disabled and drivers, rather than anyone displaying a blue badge who is simply dropping off a disabled passenger. Accessibility to the ground floor - dining room, lounges and reception was excellent with no steps. The staff were always helpful and pleasant and I would certainly stay there again.

I took my Father to The Grange for Fathers Day lunch today. The setting, food and service were perfect. We will definitely return and not hesitate to recommend.

Thank you for another lovely stay, My friend and I had room 1 which meet all our requirements. The breakfast and evening meal were excellent,staff very helpful. The mugs in the room were rather large and heavy,maybe cups and saucers would be easier for people with hand disabilities. Looking forward to spending more time at your lovely hotel. The Grange is a lovely place to stay, off the beaten track in the countryside but with lots of interesting places to visit nearby - there is a bookcase full of maps and information available for guests. The hotel is beautifully decorated with amazing wallpapers and many quirky things to admire. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and we had a comfortable room with a balcony overlooking the garden. We enjoyed excellent breakfasts, the dinners weren't quite so good, and don't expect anyone to be able to advise on what wine to pair with the food! However it was very pleasant to come down for a drink in the bar and to be served canapes while deciding what to eat. The best dishes we ate were the chicken in tarragon cream sauce and the little Dorset apple sponge with custard which was the perfect size to finish a meal Two odd little things our visit - it was my birthday while we were staying and I did inform them on booking and gave my date of birth for check in just the day before but this wasn't acknowledged in any way. The express check out was also unusual, fortunately we chose to get our bill the night before leaving and were able to spot an error on it and have it corrected before automatically paying it. Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again when we are next in the area.
