Residence Inn Salt Lake City Cottonwood

I'm currently staying at this location. I can't sleep because the equipment they use to maintain the pool makes a loud, high pitched squealing sound. Imagine trying to sleep when someone is running a vacuum cleaner right outside your window. That's what it's like. It tried calling the front desk three times today and they won't do anything. They didn't offer to change my room. They won't let me cancel the second night I had reserved. They said I had to call customer service. Customer service said I needed to talk to the property. I booked through Marriott.com. I've stayed here many times in the past and enjoyed the experience. But this was the first time they gave me a room by the pool. If you book a room here, make sure you do NOT let them give you a room that faces the pool.

The pullout sofa had a broken mattress with springs digging into my daugher's skin - totally unacceptable and we are asking for money back for last night. She didn't sleep and it ruined our ski day. We alerted the hotel about it 3 hours ago and first they promised a rollout bed. Then the General Manager called and said they couldnt do that because of fire marshal policy. He promised to send a brand new mattress and throw away the bad one, saying they are aware of the problem. An hour later, housekeeping shows up at our door with a 1.25" foam topper, not a mattress! Can anyone at this hotel get it together?! Now the poor nice attendant at the front desk says they don't in fact have any new mattresses that the GM promised, and she'll do her best to find us a different mattress or some other solution. HORRIBLE incompetent customer service. Do NOT rely on anyone in your family being able to sleep on the crappy broken pull out couches at this Marriot residence in.

Hotel was kinda run down but I had a medical emergency while there and the staff was very kind and helpful. I mean the rooms were not bad just thin walls and it was loud. They were clean though, the toilets are extremely low flow

Great location just about 30 minutes from the airport and with a spectacular view of the mountains if your room faces the west. Several good coffee and restaurant options within walking distance. Spacious and clean rooms. The breakfast was very good. Besides the standard hotel items, there were also daily options that were creative and delicious such as spinach and swiss crustless quiche, and tomato and feta egg white frittata. The staff was also very cheery and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Our stay at this property was nice. It’s a very good location, easy to access most everything. While the property needs to be updated, it was still very comfortable. The staff was amazing. And the breakfast they offer was outstanding. I would recommend this place and stay here again.

We stayed here for just over 24 hours when we added on a day to our ski trip and our other hotel couldn’t accommodate us. The absolute highlight was the service. I wish I had gotten the names of everyone who helped us (and there were several because we were a hot mess) to personally mention them. The best was a blonde woman in housekeeping who we just happened to run into and she went waaaay out of her way to help us. So very appreciated. The room was spacious, bed was very comfortable, and shower had great water pressure. Add on a great location and this is a highly recommended place

We have stayed at this property in the past and booked again this time due to proximity to ski resorts, free breakfast and pool/hot tub. However, the pool and hot tub are currently out of commission due to health regulations; this was not disclosed prior to booking. The front desk staff and management stated it was a repair that should be completed during our stay; maintenance staff stated there was no estimated time to repair. The rooms are fair and the layout is nice for longer stays but definitely v could use an update. The full breakfast was excellent and replenished frequently. The mattresses are fairly soft and could use an update as well. Wi-Fi is slow for streaming; they did update the TV during our stay however we were without cable or streaming capabilities for a day due to this The hotel is average; main positive is the convenient location. The price for very limited amenities is a bit high. In the future, we will likely book elsewhere.

First, the location is great if you're in Utah to ski. Twenty-five minutes to Brighton and Solitude, 30 minutes to Alta and Snowbird, and about 40 minutes to Park City (Deer Valley, etc.). Also, the staff were generally friendly and it was great to have a small kitchen to work with BUT... This property is really in need of a major renovation. Everything is just worn out. Bathroom fixtures, kitchens, furniture...all worn and worse for the wear. The very worst thing about the property is that they put the furnaces for each unit in a closet in the bedroom so every single time the heat comes on the noise is nearly unbearable. It made sleeping very, very hard. It's very unlikely we'll stay here again until after a renovation.

We ended up here for one night after another Marriott property screwed us over and gave away our room less than an hour before we arrived. It was a bit difficult to find the entrance in the dark. Front desk staff were fine. The hotel in general and the room were so old, dingy, and beaten up. The walls and furniture had a lot of scuff marks and chips. The bed was so small and my back felt like a pretzel the next morning. While the room was clean, it and the décor were just old. There were no COVID precautions to speak of. Breakfast was what you’d expect, but at least there were some “safe” options like yogurt and fruit. The oatmeal wasn’t bad. Initially, we were so irritated with the hotel that didn’t hold our room that we thought about staying here for the duration of our stay, but after seeing it and staying one night we changed our mind.
