We enjoyed our two week stay immensely. Our second floor room was simple but had everything we needed. Especially the view! We spent a fair amount of time sitting on our balcony watching the sea and enjoying the birds. A wee finch came to visit us often, along with the occasional blackbird. We saw parakeets and pelicans and seabirds. Even bats at night. The pool area isn't fancy but definitely served our needs. We prefer a table with chairs over loungers, but being low season, we had a choice of using either. The adjacent Zaccios offered decent food and excellent drinks. Although we usually brought our own drinks from our studio, we did succumb to happy hour! It was especially convenient to have a private bar counter on the pool side from which to order. The beach was narrow but the water was usually calm and enjoyable. There is a clearly marked swimming area, although no lifeguards. Beach loungers and umbrellas are free for hotel guests. The public beach access was just to the north of the property where you can rent jet skis or arrange tours. Sometimes unfortunately, a petrol smell would come from there. We watched a lot of boats out on the water, and oh those amazing sunsets. But wonderfully, there weren't nearly the amount of biting bugs as anticipated. I usually get eaten alive so this respite was spectacular. The convenience of having the Massy supermarket directly across the street cannot be understated. Once we tried the hot food from the deli at the back, we understood the lineups for it. Amazing value and selection. I admit we usually bought it early (hot foods are ready starting at 11) and then warmed it up after sunset for supper. We also enjoyed Surfside, Just Grillin', and a special birthday meal at the Tides along with Zaccios all very nearby hotel. And we liked the homey Fishermans Pub in Speightstown. We did an island tour with Ted's tours, highly recommended. We did a small group adults only catamaran sail and snorkel day with Calabaza, which was excellent. Through Beautiful Barbados Tours and Excursions, we visited the simply amazing Harrison's cave, and did a fun snorkel tour with Tranquility cruises aboard a glass bottom boat. The only downside to our accommodation was the lighting. It was very dim after sunset, which makes getting ready for a night out a little tough. On Sunday evenings, you can catch a steel band at the nearby Surfside. Overall, we found our studio was great value for money and we would certainly stay here in future trips to Barbados.
